Today I had a long chat with this officer who leaves the Met in a months time. She has 9 years in & a wealth of skills. She enjoys the streets & was being forced into a role she didn't want. Her exit?? interview by an inspector was dismissive. A major UK company snapped her up. What a waste.

💯 on all of this, they never learn, they will never stop, they are all self obsessed with their own careers so the destruction continues. It’s the equivalent of political parties, each one blames the last for the mistakes & claims to fix it….but destroys it further…sinking 🛳️

Soon I move to a role that does not utilise any of the skills I have. A role I have never done, wouldn’t choose to do but will do to the best I can regardless. Why? Because the MPS is making the worst decisions have seen in my 22 yrs of service. Hundreds displaced, risk increased

@12Remix1 @obbsie Very true, I realised a few years back. This is the worst ‘re-structure’ aka management destruction in the MPS that I have witnessed. As a fully operational officer there really is no point, our treatment for specialising is one of distain by senior ‘leaders’ 🙄🤐

@moaningcatsbutt @obbsie Come to the railway. They love ex job. Age no barrier either. I was at the tail end of my 40s when I switched after 18 in. Happy to advise/assist if it's something you'd consider.

@grantlander17 @obbsie I came out in 2019 so that ball & chain is already gone 🙌 It makes it an easy decision, I just need to secure a role 🤞

@moaningcatsbutt @obbsie Make sure you speak to the Met Fed Pension advisor regarding your before you take the plunge. It may be better to grind out another couple of years to get to 25 years?
