@weswinder Opus 4.8 Ultracode is pretty good. Not THAT good but still very usable.

@Alennushkaa I don't think it disregards you, you just enter an age where you're the one having to do the "regarding", i.e. carry responsibility, raise family, help improve your community, etc. All of that has been vilified by modern society though, so it's tough to see the benefits for most.
English

@a_apanasik Checks out. Both are relatively cheap to come by and the most visible to a user.
English

@chhopsky If a game exec has a single brain cell like you, yes you might be right. But most execs have more than 1, so they track AI usage and check on their employees regularly to see what they're doing.
English

if you're an game studio executive mandating AI usage, your workers are lying to you about using it
it can't do the things you want so they pretend to use it to protect their jobs
your plans are dumb but no-one wants to get fired so they waste your money instead 👍 great work

Ignoring AI utilization in game development going forward is like fighting against the flood. You cannot punch water. When digital animation replaced cel animation, jobs were displaced. When the automated telephone exchanges replaced switchboard operators, jobs were displaced. When electronic elevator boards replaced elevator operators, jobs were displaced. Useful, more efficient tools have always won out. Robotics replaces a great deal of factory work now. This was inevitable, and game development will be better for it.
English

@sean_gause Doesn't it kinda depend on the type of game and how much you use AI and what for? Or is it just black and white with you weirdos?
English

@mobxgames @mattworkman That's fine, you go and care about those more important principles. Having different opinions on AI is fine, but on what principles one should care about is not?
English

@samtechcoded But it's always so easy to put the blame on <NEXT.CURRENT.THING>
English

@ZolotojKrokodil @mattworkman especially when these principles don't include abstaining from fear- and hate-mongering against other game devs who simply have another take on the matter
English

@ZolotojKrokodil @mattworkman because there are more important principles than protecting the world from AI tooling
English

@mattworkman @TimSweeneyEpic Please tell him to bring UT back. I'll maintain it personally.

Awesome! 300+ wishlists because of the SAIGAI Demo so far! Thanks #SteamNextFest and everyone who has played!

English

@mattworkman No self-proclaimed solo dev or Indie will survive the next year or two if they don't heavily use AI tooling. And even if they do chances are extremely slim they survive in this market.
English

@mattworkman Standing on their principles and virtue signalling are different things.
English

@mattworkman Silly people tbh. In 5 years no one will be able to to tell or care.
English

@3DModelsCC0 @Devon_Aidendale @funnyToasty Really? Thanks officer, I promise I'll be a good anti AI boy now.
English

@mobxgames @Devon_Aidendale @funnyToasty You need an AI disclosure on your Steam page if you use generative AI!
English

@Devon_Aidendale @funnyToasty and of course insecure little crybabies like you care about what "everyone" thinks 😂
English

@mobxgames @funnyToasty I think pretty much everyone is going to take that as a yes.

🤯 This is a website, a simple web-based game built with WebGL and Three.js.
Website: messenger.abeto.co
It's honestly surprising how far web development has come.
