Another issue that bothered the police was: who feeds dosa to a 3-month-old child? At that age, the child should be fed only breast milk. So police probed keeping all angles in mind. Investigation revealed that Bhavna maintained a diary in which she had written about her deep desire to have a son and had vowed to visit a temple if her wish was fulfilled. Next, toxicology reports found aluminium phosphide in the blood of victims. Police then found that Vimal had bought 10 packets of Sulphas (Celphos), a fumigant containing aluminium phosphide. He had used eight to preserve wheat but could not account for the remaining two packets. So, the probe so far suggests the likelihood of parent(s) poisoning their daughters and consuming a smaller quantity themselves so that they would survive, in a desire to have a son. If true, how heartless do you have to be to kill your own children like this?
