@MemIngenjoeren Problemet med hus på landet är att så länge du inte kan leva på avkastningen och behöver jobba så måste du ändå jobba och sen ta hand om allt på gården. Det är i princip omöjligt att leva på ett småbruk.

Globalisering. Upplösningen av hem och gemenskap. Förestående AI-revolution. Snittmänniskan jobbar halva dygnet och sitter med telefonen andra. Svårt att skaka av sig känslan av att vi långsamt glider in i en dystopi. Dags att logga ut, köpa hus på landet och ha d gott?

What Android phone should I get? I'm partial to stuff that works without much fuss. I like stock Android generally.

@GrapheneOS @Cornholio21_ GleSYS does not have metered links but the largedt is 1gbit/s afaik. Maybe you can reach out to them for a special deal though? glesys.com/pricing/

@Cornholio21_ Hetzner is an option but it costs €43.00/month + €1/TB above the included 20TB for bandwidth. We use around 300TB in Europe right now and that's growing significantly. Months with a major update would be significantly larger. We can afford to pay it but it's not exactly cheap.

We need more 10Gbps or higher dedicated servers for hosting our OS and app updates. We have North America covered well enough via sponsored servers from ReliableSite in both Miami and Los Angeles and a sponsored server from Xenyth in Toronto but no longer have any left in Europe.

2025 has been an incredible year for Gleam adoption, but sadly not for funding, with GitHub sponsorship dropping ~10%. It's not a disaster as we're careful with finances, but it's not a good trend. How can turn users into supporters? A sufficiently funded ecosystem benefits all!
