I feel this in my bones. “Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'” — Isaac Asimov

@WorshipTheCross Please point to me where in any of Jesus’ teachings, he advocated that death should be the punishment met out for something? I’ll wait.

Charlie Kirk's death rests solely at the feet of post-conciliar theologians such as yourself who not only reject but attack the Church's traditional teaching on the goodness of the death penalty. You are evil and a heretic and a just society would put you to death 4 ur heresy.
john milbank@johnmilbank3

Of course Christians have to be against capital punishment - following the early church fathers. The execution of Kirk’s killer must be resisted at all costs. Besides judicial murder being wrong (and in a way the worst kind of murder as turning it into law) it would be risky.

@Trumpordie2024 @dougboneparth You have an apple I have a dollar I give you my dollar You give me your apple That is what equal trade is. Americans are not sending money to other countries to not get anything back. We buy more from others than we sell to them because we have greater purchasing power

@jltechie @SkylineReport No, he’s mad because tariffs under trumps first term bankrupted farmers and they needed a federal bailout and yet the farmers voted for him AGAIN knowing that he ran on tariffs that would, you guessed it, lead to their financial hardship and ruin again.

@SkylineReport So you are mad they are trying to save their business? Why do liberals misrepresent what a bankruptcy does?

Did you know? In 2019, U.S. farm bankruptcies surged by nearly 20%—the highest level since 2011—despite billions of dollars in federal aid to offset losses from the Trump administration’s trade war and tariffs. A total of 595 family farms filed for Chapter 12 bankruptcy that year, highlighting the severe financial strain faced by American farmers during this period[1][2][3]. @fore_driver @MNPDNashville I mean, I'm with you - but I think the problem is a lot more difficult than anyone can appreciate. You're talking about inebriated humans that climb and fall over things. I'm sure some of the solution is better guards, but a larger portion is enforcement for over serving at bars

@TheCAThomas @piper4missouri No, it’s not. Honestly I don’t know if the original post qualified or not. I’m speaking to the IRS rules. If the church invited him & he talked politics & stumped for election that’s a violation. If he just railed about the nation being not to his liking and urged ppl to vote, no

@northrup @piper4missouri Is being mentioned in a social media post the new definition of participating in a campaign? Because if it is, I can think of a whole lot of 501(c)(3) organizations on the same side of the aisle from @piper4missouri we need to investigate.

@piper4missouri Well, that should be a quick case...punishing a church for saying people need to be politically involved. Trinity v. Comer might be apropos.

@KeithKopinski @GravitysRa1nbow I mean, when you think about the person that would answer a random phone call from an unknown number and then stay on the line for a poll… it tells you all you need to know about how these numbers are what they are.

@mitchellbwright @kenwheeler I've been to a bar like that, where the bartender asks you what kind of flavors you like, what kind of mood you're in, and then brings you back a drink.

@kenwheeler I went to a Thai restaurant in Hawaii like this. Chef comes out and chats you up for a couple minutes and then just starts sending out food to your table. It was amazing

The government saying they need mass surveillance powers in the name of national security is a time-tested tactic. As spy agencies fight to renew Section 702, be ready for the scary stories of what would happen if they needed to respect our privacy. eff.org/deeplinks/2023…

This is like bragging about your new weight-loss plan, which is to start smoking. If you honestly think a stadium will foster economic development, contrary to ALL available research, you are not merely wrong, you are incompetent.
Bruce Barry@brucebarry

If you think that Nashville is the most envied city in the U.S. you are delusional (and need to get out more), and if you think that building a new mostly publicly funded stadium that does zilch for the problems this city actually faces will sustain that, you are hallucinating.
