@andreintg @castpixel You seem incredibly incapable of addressing her point. You can't just pretend the environmental impact isn't substantial.
Also it's been confirmed that the threejs creator is using claude for code now.
Also "our" craft lol.
English

@castpixel @nulshift is this me being passive aggressive? Got blocked and he keeps commenting on my stuff knowing I can't even reply. Christina, I'm trying not to get into arguments with you out of the sheer love I have for your work. But I won't take shit for not gate keeping our craft.

@BonnefouxDamien @MartinNebelong I'm not sure why any AI business bro thinks that any of this will ever help them.
The only people excited for this slop are 'ideas guys' who finally feel like they have a chance of getting a position in the industry.
They wont. There'll be more supply of ideas guys than demand.
English

@MartinNebelong You miss the point, this technology is for customers not for devs. The strategy of AI giants is to expose it directly to the general public and eliminate intermediaries (aka the creatives). You want ai tool, they want ai content generator directly exposed to the public.
English

This is real-time..
The debate about Nvidia's latest neural rendering tech is ongoing. One side sees the potential of the technology to bridge the gap across the uncanny valley, to give us a much less rigid creative process than a to b to c.. the other side shouts "slop" and tries to shame any creative who dares to explore this new technology, any chance they get.
Meanwhile, I'm over here saying "I told you so".. Gen Ai is here to stay, its becoming real-time and Nvidia now has the "RTX on" for AI which I've been talking about for years.
We need creatives to help shape meaningful tools that combine this tech with much more granular creative control.. with tools where you as an artist see your creative thumbprint from beginning to end in the parts of the work that matters the most to you.
If you're shaming artists or storytellers who embrace these tools, you're doing them a disservice in my opinion.
If they don't learn to utilize these tools and workflows, to make them their own and to shape them, others will.
There's no way this tech won't be a huge part of the creative industry and of the way we tell stories. It's happening around us as we speak.
That said, at the core of it, do what makes you happy and create in any way you like. Don't let people tell you that "you can't do this" or "you have to do it like this".
English

@andreintg @castpixel Ah so when someone else doesn't respond it's "I don't get a response" but when you don't respond there's an excuse lol
It's not a live chat or a phone call, you can answer later.
English

@nulshift @castpixel it's past 8pm here, I have two kids jumping on my head and I think you have a grudge with AI more than anything else. Forgive me if I don't indulge futher in the convo
English

@andreintg That's not an equivalent thing though. And there's no way she said the exact same thing either because what I said doesn't apply in that case.
English

@nulshift My traditional art teacher used to tell me exactly the same thing about my 3D renders. Fun how time goes by and biases remain. It was the late 90s, she was 60, btw.
English

@castpixel @andreintg How interesting that the conversation ended here. Huh.
English

@andreintg this is techbro propaganda and I hope you haven't fallen for it, and are just saying it because it sounds like justice to you.
if the act of learning the tool ( chisel, pencil, code) doesn't spark joy, I'm not unsympathetic, but also don't want to burn the planet for it.
English

@andreintg Because only the left side is actually doing anything.
The left side shows experimentation. The left side shows progress. Even if it doesn't look the greatest, that's where all the learning is happening. And that will be the video that people can learn from watching, too.
English

@nulshift If you look at the video, you'll notice the amount of AI (if any at all) is up to the user. Just like I'll leave it up to you to decide for yourself if you need this at all. But why claim nobody will benefit. Not everyone is on the same journey as yours.
English

@andreintg You're just chasing after the appearance of a result. It doesn't help anyone develop any sort of skills to pretend the right one is the result. You don't learn anything. You don't get something usable out of a prompt.
If you want an image of a donut, draw a donut.
English

@nulshift that's like saying anything out anything that produces an image is only useful for social posts 😅
What about not relying on just a prompt to quickly make 2D assets, 3D assets, placeholders, learning...personal enjoyment?
English

@JoshStrifeHayes Fans not psychoanalyzing content creators challenge impossible
English

@henningsanden Click "Following" tab and in the drop-down, select "Recent".
This way you can directly curate exactly what you want to see. Posts from people you follow. In order from newest to oldest without the algorithm picking what it wants you to see.
English

@henningsanden Quads or Tris?
Too bad, the AI is giving you both. Well, pretending to anyway.
English

@Marqrk1 @IsThisA3DModel Yup. Probably the best library for 3D on web. Sadly it's gonna slowly degrade. He's cheering about how good it is with about 1.x% or whatever of the code being AI contributions. It's only gonna get worse the higher that number gets. See Windows, and Nvidia drivers as examples lol
English

@nulshift @IsThisA3DModel It’s a shame cuz I liked three.js, nice and simple library for 3D displays
English

Garry's Mod creator says programmers over-relying on AI is like using too much porn: 'You lose your ability to ejaculate using your imagination' pcgamer.com/software/ai/ga…
English

@bitcoinlanparty @Cameron54079333 @pcgamer wasn't this the mindset of all the NFT games that never came out
English

@Cameron54079333 @pcgamer People spend way too much time building a product, only to realize nobody knows you even exist, and nobody cares about what you built.
Marketing comes first, always. Then work backwards
English

@IsThisA3DModel even his issues are written by claude. three.js is doomed.
github.com/mrdoob/three.j…
English

@IsThisA3DModel he's not even the creator of three.js anymore
most of the commits are by community members nowadays. and whenever he does commit, its 'co-authored' by claude.
English

@ranggiana @IsThisA3DModel no because the community has been contributing more to threejs than he has for the past bit and whenever he does contribute it's written by claude.
English

@Pirat_Nation If Valve is the one that has to pay the fee, does that mean I can just download their music and ship it in a game without paying the license? There's no way that we both have to pay.
English

British music rights organisation PRS for Music is suing Valve, claiming that Valve must pay separate licensing fees for "making available" games that include music from PRS members.
The dispute targets games sold or downloaded via Steam that feature such music without Valve holding the required UK licence.
Examples cited include Forza Horizon, FIFA/EA FC, and the Grand Theft Auto series.
