We have a double wide - and it looks like a house and a modular home on our farm. It costs 25K more to get the double-wide turned into a modular when being built. Another 5-10K extra for the foundation. One sits on the axles and the other is placed on a permanent foundation. A modular converts to a stick-built and a traditional mortgage can be obtained. A double-wide is never viewed as a house by mortgage companies or real estate appraisers. That will add significant value to your land and farm. Do your homework - Go for the modular.

Question: Do you judge people for living in a trailer? 😅 My husband and I are thinking about buying some land and putting a double wide on it. But I'm not gonna lie... the stigma of living in a trailer is definitely in the back of my mind. I don't tend to care what people think for the most part, but this is something that gets me.

@Outspoken_Sam Consider a manufactured house. They are extremely smart in many ways, and often have smaller options. At least you can have a basement, which, in tornado country, is the main reason to skip the trailer.

I have been unfollowed by Megyn Kelly. I didn't think I ever said anything directly critical of her. I have defended her on many occasions and never wanted to pile on. But somewhere in there I guess I crossed the line. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted.

I remember in 2016, when the BLM Sniper murdered 5 police officers and wounded 9 other people in Dallas. It was one of the events that cracked the foundation of my belief system: seeing the unmitigated bloodlust and violence and malevolence of the left - of “my side.” I had been in the Woke leftist Cult for almost 20 years at the time. I was naive. I thought we were all liberals. (Extremely naive.) One striking thing about the response to that BLM Sniper: in my Woke echochamber, leftists *simultaneously* celebrated the murder of all of those innocent people (I remember people snarking that “some old white men are going to have to die”) AND distanced themselves from the murderer and pretended he wasn’t BLM and wasn’t a leftist, when he clearly WAS. That shooting was one of a few pivotal moments that lead to me leaving the Woke Cult 10 years ago. And in those ensuing 10 years there have been so many more incidents of violence from the left. So many murders and attempted murders. And I notice the SAME THING happens every time. It happened with both previous Trump assassination attempts and it happened with Charlie’s assassination and it is already happening with the assassination attempt tonight: The Left simultaneously celebrates the murder or attempted murder AND distances themselves from the murderer and pretends it wasn’t done by a leftist. It’s bizarre to me. The former indicates no shame left at all. But the latter seems to indicate a remaining modicum of shame?

Rare personal post: today sucked. It's awful to take a beloved old pet to the vet a final time to say goodbye, but it's part of having these amazing 4-legged creatures be part of our families. Today was worse, though. We took a beloved young pet to the vet first thing this morning for surgery that was meant to keep him with us a few years longer. By midmorning, he was dead on the table as the tumor obstructed major blood vessels and caused too much damage. The calendar reminder to pick him up at 4:30 this afternoon was brutal. Toast to you, Hanser. We wish you could've stayed longer, but we were lucky to have the time we did. 🥃
