Nightlife in nyc is shifting from alcohol-induced socializing to activities that combine connection with intellectual interest.
Out: clubbing, drinking games, bars without themes.
In: lectures at bars, philosophy clubs, board game nights, reading meetups.
Gen Z'ers are paying $40 a ticket to attend these things.
Someone is going to build a massive platform aggregating these activities for the next generation.

@BuffyWicks Prioritize small (and even tiny) EV city cars, like Europe and Japan do (and meaningfully tax the behemoths). Lower in-town speed limits so e-bikes and cars are in synch. Take account of topography for bike routes.

I have done a lot of work to fast-track much-needed housing, and through that work I have seen another area in desperate need of streamlining: transportation projects to increase bicycle and pedestrian safety.

I had a Navy Psychologist explain it to me this way.
When a person enlists in the Air Force/Navy for six years and gets out, it takes him 5-7 days to adjust.

I was in the courtroom for Johnny Somali’s verdict. The second he walked in, his eyes were completely dead and lifeless.
Zero trolling, zero antics toward the press and creators. He wouldn’t even look at us. He knew he was screwed.
And he was so desperate that he lied about still being an ASU student (he already graduated) and tried to say that he missed his family lol.
Sad. Hope harassing Koreans and being a public nuisance was worth the hard labor and prison time. But I hope that the prosecutor appeals because 6 months is not enough. WE WANT THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE!

The San Francisco-born small business, Philz Coffee, just lost its community values after being bought out. Now owned by private equity firm Freeman Spogli, Philz is no longer allowed to display pride flags. This sad moment highlights the critical importance of locally-rooted businesses that support and understand the communities they serve, including the LGBTQ community.

My problem with San Francisco has always been that it is kind of boring. It lacks density and modern housing. I would love to see San Francisco grow to 2 million people in the next decade. This would be awesome.

Love to see Sunset Dunes had 1.7 million visitors in the first year.
It explains why so many small businesses near the park are reporting increases in sales.
More than half of all visits (53%) occurred on weekdays!

Yet Sunset Dunes has become one of the most popular parks in San Francisco. Traffic is fine and the benefits of the park are real. It’s good for the environment, the local economy, and the physical/mental well-being of every visitor.

There are a lot of other issues that one can dislike Traci for too:
-Voted against lawyers for people facing deportation twice in 2023
-The most vocal opponent against Measure HLA, requiring the city to implement street safety
-Opposed even studying underused freeway-to-housing, parks, and bus conversion
-Prioritization of LAPD funding to the point of voting down a budget that expanded LAFD
But her blockage of Venice Dell, opposition to SB 79, and entering politics to stop a Ramada Inn from housing homeless folks are enough reasons for me.
