Meanwhile, rents are rising, evictions are up, homelessness is unchanged & drug use persists in the Tenderloin. SF voters are left wondering: what exactly has changed?

Build American AI, the advocacy group spun out of Greg Brockman, a16z, Perplexity etc-funded super PAC Leading the Future, has been touting a list of 500k+ “grassroots” supporters in major news outlets without scrutiny. So I looked a bit closer - and it turns out that “grassroots” group was harvested via paid ads costing at least half a million dollars. Read more at the link in reply

For the 2026 election, here is the top crypto and AI Super PAC + dark money playbook which is primarily funded by Marc Andreessen, Ben Horowitz and their VC firm a16z: CRYPTO: Fairshake (parent SP) Protect Progress (Dems) Defend American Jobs (GOP) The Cedar Innovation Foundation (dark money group) AI: Leading the Future (parent SP) Think Big (Dems) American Mission (GOP) Build American AI (dark money group)
Robert Reich@RBReich

The pro-Israel, crypto, and AI lobbies have spent $21M+ to influence tomorrow's Illinois primary via innocuously-named Super PACs like "Elect Chicago Women". Not a single one of their ads mentions Israel, crypto, or AI. Citizens United is corrupting our system every day.

.@ZohranKMamdani and I have something huge in common — we’re both entirely focused on making life better for working people. We have very different ideas on how to do that, but I think that’s the sign of a healthy democracy: the ability to disagree civilly, debate thoughtfully, and grapple with the fact that what we’ve been doing isn’t working — even, and perhaps most importantly, when you come from the same political party. I love New York, but I’m happy to be on a flight home right now — because California, we have a whole lot of work to do.

Meta's $45 million super PAC lost 3/4 of the Illinois state legislature races it spent in last night. Meta spent $750,000 across four state races in Illinois and their only chosen candidate who won was Paul Kendrick in IL-HD-12.
