@ashwinmahesh Considering that mobile numbers are being sought by all and sundry now (many a times without any thought on its need), what is the most downside risk? It feels like every business and govt has everyone’s mobile numbers anyway someway or other.

The fact that the lady says she can't use her number tells me that the restaurant has anticipated that some customers won't share their numbers, and that she might use hers to get around that, and that they really want to force customers to give this information to them.

At Rameswaram Cafe in T1. The lady taking the order asks for a mobile number. I tell her I dont want to give that to her. She says she can't take the order without my number. I am sure that is a violation of the law, so I tell her I'll eat elsewhere. Then I asked her if I can give a random number, or her company owner's number or if she can use hers. She says her company won't accept her number, and she needs an OTP from some other number. As I start to walk away she taps a nearby gate attendant and asks for his number! He wants 10 rupees as a commission. But it's all in good humor. Problem solved. You can pick up your order, Sir, she says.

Also team here not honouring the option for a senior citizen to have an accompanying adult. They surely need better awareness on applicant rights and a bit of service-centricity and empathy.

@passportsevamea I am at POPSK Udupi with my senior citizen mother for passport renewal. Team here refusing acceptance of application quoting that Address Proof (Bank Photo Passbook) does not have full name of husband. Is "Spouse of" a necessary requirement in an address proof?
