@ISavatgy @MrBeast Red=safe I wont put anyone into a situation to require them risking themselves, to get me out of a shitty situation. I prioritize responsibility for myself.

Everyone on earth takes a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press? BE HONEST.

Why do you assume there is any need for anyone to press blue at all? Why cant every person take responsibility for themselves? Kinda victim mentality imo. People pressing red aren't choosing to kill anyone. People pressing blue are risking themselves for some odd reason, putting themselves in harms way... There is no need for anyone to do so.

@1_n0el @waitbutwhy I mean its the perfect metaphor to explain how good people versus how bad people think. Bad people have no issue killing half the planet if it personally benefits them to do such. Good people think genociding the species is bad.

Red is prioritizing responsibility for your own self first. Blue is assuming there will be people who don't, thus creating a need for them to be saved by the collective. A situation they themselves created by ignoring the need to care for one self first. If all people took more responsibility for their own selves, nobody would need to even think about pressing blue.

@waitbutwhy Pressing red means you’re betting that most people won’t cooperate, and choosing to survive at their expense. Blue is the only outcome where everyone lives. Defending red just comes down to fear and selfishness

@questionableway Its not selfish. Its called responsibility for ones own safety, outcome etc. You know how they teach people to put on their own oxygen mask, before others. Same principle applies a lot in other contexts.

We did the red/blue voting thing and everyone else voted and now it's your turn. The vote tallies are suddenly revealed to you and the vote is exactly 50/50. If you vote blue everyone lives, if you vote red all the people who voted blue die. How do you vote?

@thevivafrei Imagine almost everything costing the same. And everyone having a substantially higher income. Thats what we are talking about. Not inflation. Just expansion. Because the assertion is, AI will lead to a drastically increased productivity and output.

I don’t understand this argument. What good does “universal high income” do when all that would happen is massive inflation for the cost of goods? Awesome, now everyone’s a millionaire. And a computer now costs $20,000 because every retailer knows that everyone’s a millionaire.
Elon Musk@elonmusk

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

@arkonballoon @JonasESteinbach @atiedtke1 It is not income. Nothing was given for the money. The money is a gift. It is not your typical income generating economic activity. It is a personal gift. Income tax was already paid on it.

Pha. If you have good map skills, you can get it down to a very good 2 options by day 2. On day 3, you might have it, if you 50/50 correctly. 3-4 days will likely be all you rly need. This is basic stuff. Just pinpoint your pos. Draw a cricle. Day 2, again pinpoint. Another circle. The 2 circles will intersect at 2 points. Day 3, just pick one of the 2 points, and get a refined distance. If you choe the wrong point, you still get to refine the point. Its totally trivial.

@helios_brah Introspection can have its role to play, in improving your life. You discover whats up inside, and then take action to course correct. To teach the mind new ways. What many do, is just ruminate. Just keep telling themselves theyre fucked cos of this and that. Thats not good.

Every teacher I know personally is leaving the profession because students have become unteachable. They don’t read, they don’t talk to each other, they have no curiosity, no passion, no interest in learning. Giving kids unfettered access to screens has ruined a generation.
Steve Magness@stevemagness

In 2008, 62% of teachers said they were very satisfied with their job. In 2022, that dropped to 12%. We've got a serious problem brewing in education...

Fractional Cursor acquisition. xAI taking the right steps
Jason Ginsberg@JasonBud

I’m proud to be joining SpaceX and xAI with @milichab It has become clear that software is changing fundamentally. More and more, people can shape the tools they use directly, and the ceiling of what can be built keeps rising. What makes xAI special is the scale of its ambition: to build from first principles all the way out to the stars. I’m especially grateful to work on products that expand human agency and freedom. That mission is deeply personal to me. My family came to the United States fleeing communism, and the belief that freedom should be part of the next generation of the internet has driven me every day since Andrew and I started Skiff. Now, we get to work on intelligence, understanding, and freedom on a universal scale.

@SteveHemstreet @upstatefederlst @wrowclif What do you mean "human experience". I legit couldnt care less what the nr says. All I do care is how the whole of society is running, and that depends on the sun. NOT on the nr on the clock.

@upstatefederlst Universal time is globalist slop. Time should be kept for the human experience. I don't care if the machines don't like it. We should all use @wrowclif 's localized time when noon always coresponds to the solar maximum for the day in the location you are at. Humanmaxing.
