@Eric7227 @helyearelyea What's going on is that too many people want to play Silksong and overloaded the servers. LOL at the people who said Silksong isn't a big deal.

@SlackHQ @jonbstrong Any update on this? It aggravates me on a daily basis months later, and I've started to simply leave channels that I used to mute, and temporarily rejoin them when I need to interact with them and leave again. It seems like muting is useless now.

@jonbstrong Hey there. Sorry for the notification noise. This change in badging behaviour for muted channels is due to the recent design update in Slack. The Activity view includes mentions and keyword tags from muted channels. We'll share your feedback with the team for future enhancements.

@SlackHQ ever since the interface update, I keep getting 'everyone' notifications for channels that I have already muted - is there any way of preventing this from happening?

@chrislpenner `as` operator from Rust. The TryFrom and From traits are generic and non-special and might be better used instead. Better than a special language feature limited to converting specific primitive types.

If you were to REMOVE any language feature from your programming lang of choice, what would it be and why?

@AmputeeAtheist @DavidMSmithLB @gregkoukl Yes, I would say that is the case. "Christian" has a particular meaning, and here in the U.S. especially I think many people claim that label casually without actually understanding what it means.

If you want to understand why our culture is so weird right now, and why Christian values are being aggressively opposed at every level, don’t miss this free 1-hour webinar. eventbrite.com/e/the-rise-and…

@CalebMPowers They're atrocities to us because we have innate social instincts, evolved intellect and an extraordinary collection of well established facts about how the world works.

"...atheists use Christianity in order to then beat Christianity. It is easy to point to medieval atrocities, etc. But these are only atrocities to us today because we are viewing these through a Christian lens." - Paul VanderKlay

@AmputeeAtheist @DavidMSmithLB @gregkoukl However, if someone displayed multiple of these behaviors habitually I might start to wonder if they actually are Christians, or are just giving lip service to the Christian label. Which definitely skews the data.

@AmputeeAtheist @DavidMSmithLB @gregkoukl You're right, Christians do sometimes behave this way. We all sin. But Christian values are not defined by what Christians do, they're defined by what Christ did. Behaviors of individuals don't help us figure out what actual Christian values are. Does that distinction make sense?

@bagder I can agree with this. I wouldn't say it is an absolute rule though, depends on the size and type of project. Suggesting that curl be fully rewritten in Rust is a bit naive, as big of a fan of Rust as I am.

Will I ever rewrite curl in rust? I don't believe in rewrites, no matter which language. I believe in replacing code and fixing components gradually over time. That *could* mean that we have a curl written mostly in rust in 10 years. Or in 20 years. Or not.

@CalebMPowers Unfortunately I've seen this happen. I am always baffled. Though it isn't always just as a hope for conversion; sometimes it is because they can't/don't find a suitable musician that is a believer but care overly much that the position is at least filled.

@rawkode DigitalOcean. They focus on public & open-source APIs so less vendor lock-in, and their console is clean and to the point, just like their pricing.
