@jake_uden @alicekeeler I have a formal scheduled on Monday,after lunch,3 days before break.Can't wait for my score(that partially determines a raise next yr)or feedback on how 100% of 1st graders are on task and engaged during a rigorous lesson that is aligned with standards (most sarcastic tone ever)

My kids came home from school... they did fun activities in the gym (no complaints) but it makes me wonder the purpose of policies that restrict teachers from using this as a personal day for an extended vacation when it has the least amount of impact on student learning

@alicekeeler @donlyn21 YESSSSS! Or to be made to feel guilty if you take care of yourself or worried about retaliation. Unfortunately,I'm sure many teachers feel that anxiety of returning the next day and waiting to hear those keys in the door and admin coming in with a clipboard to do an informal.

@TeachMrsDTeach Yessss!!! It breaks my heart when they ask.. "Was I good today?" Yes lil one..you are always good. Sometimes, we can all make better choices.

1/2 I teach first grade. I hear Ss ask, "Was I good today?" all the time. I work intentionally to try to flip the mindset.I tell them, "You are good. Sometimes we all make unexpected choices."

@DrP_Principal Don't take a child's behavior issues personally.If they are throwing things at you screaming"I hate you"They don't.They are most likely dealing with some kind of trauma. Be the adult they can trust. Show them love&respect. You might be the only one who does.

#EarthDay project! We researched #endangered #animal species then got creative and made 3D #habitats using things we found in #nature. Best part.. it was all a student's idea.

This weekend we continued to hit those standards hard. Then, we spent some time continuing to #glamup or courtyard. Another cool new garden bed built by the kids & our awesome AP @JeramyKeen #Saturday #Science
