I still don't understand why Christopher Nolan did this with The Odyssey and it's casting while He did so much research when he was making Oppenheimer, Dunkirk , every little detail like look , walk , how the characters should talk , but in this movie why he left the story's most important character Helen of Troy like this . Helen of Troy is the reason for the fall of Troy , The Trozen Horse war ... Lupita Nyong'o is very talented , she is a very good actress .. why did Christopher Nolan choose her?? Still don't understand

@KyleSantia55572 @dcoya64 Calm down, in the Odyssey it's just Helen, and you should know why is only that character and not others (cuz she's half human, born from an egg whose father is a swan). In an adaptation such a different origin story from the others needs an equivalent of different origin.

@dcoya64 Nolan’s next project is a remake of Zulu. The tribe is played exclusively by Asians. The British soldiers are played exclusively by trans black women. Just a little cultural appropriation - no big deal right? The Odyssey is Greek culture. Hope that helps!

Myth is a people telling the story of itself, and this particular people left cities and graves and a written script behind. So no, this isn't a Marvel comic where the source is forty years old and nobody's ancestors are on the line. It's Homer.
After the Bible, it's about as close to a founding text of the West as anything we've got. And it's set in a real place among real people. The Achaeans were real. We've dug them up. We've also sequenced them.
Whatever they looked like, it wasn't sub-Saharan Africa.
