What an honor it was to be present as @Faith000001 completed her world-record walk of 100 hours around a tree! What a feeling to witness history in the making! Faith began this journey on Friday, 5th June, and crossed the 100-hour mark at exactly 2:00 pm today (9th June). Faith’s story did not begin with a record. She learned to love trees from her grandfather in Soroti, who fiercely protected the trees in their compound. He would not allow anyone to cut them down. As she watched him, a seed was planted in her. Today, that seed has grown into a woman who plants trees, nurtures them, protects them, and has just spent 100 hours walking around one. She has dedicated herself to ensuring that future generations inherit a greener, healthier planet. For the last 100 hours, she has walked around a tree to draw attention to a cause she deeply believes in. Today, I watched not just a remarkable feat of endurance, but the power of conviction. May we learn from her example and fiercely protect the only planet we have.
