@SwannMarcus89 I liked that they put out a video that more or less said "unlike other animes, we have deadlines and budget constraints, so our show cant look as good as others"

It’s funny how there are all these hyberbolic YouTube videos about how bad Invincible’s animation is and people are always whining about how they spent all the budget on voice actors instead of animation but it’s clearly one of the best American animated shows ever according to both audiences and critics Doesn’t this kind of imply “animation quality” doesn’t matter to anyone other than total nerds and animated shows are better off spending their money on writing talent and voice actors instead of top notch animation?

@Isozzzz Sure, but what if there’s a box truck in front of you that changes lanes just in time to avoid this? Seems like it might be more dangerous than necessary. Yes, there are LOTS of terrible, inattentive drivers, but this is going to keep happening once a week if nothing changes.

@mattyglesias Seems like the Palestinians keep giving up on the peace process and people use that as examples of Jewish perfidy. Not really sure what the Israelis can actually do about it

Israelis gave up on the peace process for reasons that I sympathize with. But that choice has had the negative consequences that Olmert, Tzipi Livni, Obama, J Street, etc all warned about at the time. slowboring.com/p/if-israel-do…

This is because an Arab American got an endorsement for the UMich governing board Spencer Abraham used to be a Michigan senator, & while I would have appreciated it if this heralded an era of Orthodox Christian hegemony of within the Republican party, that was not what it meant
Corey Walker 🇺🇸@CoreyWriting

As Noah Smith said, Islamism is the future of American liberalism, and it will consume the Democratic Party like it has European left-wing parties. This sucks, and I'm not looking forward to Democrats defending terrorists.

@DaveDeek @kerwin65230 @mnolangray It's not about *forcing* these areas to do anything, if they want to try to revitalize then more power to them, it's about whats likely to happen. Also 1 hour away is not a long travel time? a bad commute but still easily head into the city on weekends territory

@this_seagull @kerwin65230 @mnolangray Old Texas towns and cities like Brazoria and West Columbia are revitalizing by building more homes despite being one or even two aways from Houston They aren’t giving up incorporation nor their identity This whole *accept towns destruction* thing from Nolan only helps NIMBYs

Japan is an advanced case of trends present in nearly every developing country and it seems like: (a) superstar cities will be fine, (b) second tier cities/regional hubs will struggle, and (c) everything else -- smaller cities, towns, rural areas -- will be in free fall.

A lot of countries are going to absolutely plummet in population in the next 75 years. You might see more images like this, an old stadium. Once grand infrastructure, no longer able to be sustained for its intended purpose, remade into something new but more mundane. Like those living in the ruins of Roman civilization.

@kerwin65230 @mnolangray Suburb and exurbs are popular for a reason because large cities don’t provide the most bang for buck! Not to mention, a lot of people want to move closer to family!

People try to justify this stuff as somehow not being Trump support but ultimately that’s what it always was. Everyone who said January 6th was funny and not important was just upset that they were wrong about how bad Trump is. And that’s just being a supporter of him.

@_NotA_Bot_ From the map it looks like it's making progress but it always seemed like a no brainer to me if the city wanted to 'push' development somewhere with minimal locals to complain

@_NotA_Bot_ Callowhill always felt like entering the twilight zone to me, bordering center city, dense residential on like 3/4 sides of it, and then it's just semi abandoned industrial with the steam plant looming over everything

Looking at this pattern of growth and knowing that there are still lots of underdeveloped properties outside of city center, and thinking that the focus on market east reinvestment is misplaced. Should be broadly encouraging growth that gets realized in Callowhill/Francisville
NotaBot@_NotA_Bot_

You can see this in income and population data. Fishtown gets all the attention, but has been a ton of demographic change in north Philly over the past ten years, with people moving in and big increases in median income. Shows up as renovations and small scale apartments though

Did you know there are self-described “YIMBYs” who want to demolish this public park in a dense urban neighborhood and replace it with a government-subsidized elder care home?

@ScottGreenfield @Halalcoholism issue with exercise is you burn like 200 calories a session, eat (eg) a granola bar afterwards, and oops you've ended up +100 calories on the day. Not hard to not have the granola bar obviously but most people don't realize

I was never overweight but managed to trim 5kg in as many months just by switching up a few habits. A key one: eating less is hard to do, so treat it as a skill that you improve on with time. If you eat dessert every night, “stop eating dessert” is probably too hard. But you can start by going without it some nights. eating smaller quantities, perhaps eating it earlier on in the night to get out of the habit of late-night snacking. After a while you will find that you don’t “need” it so much and you should be able to level-up and cut it further if you wish.
mubiouš@Mubarak_mubious

people who lost a lot of weight, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you ??
