⚡️Fano counter offensive kills more than 27 regime troops and retakes Dasgundo town in twin operations across Metemma Woreda (📍West Gonder Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia) between June 17th–20th. 🔵 On June 17th, regime forces launched a multi-directional advance from Shinfa, Delego, Tumet, and Selferedi. Fano units under the Karamara Division (AFNM-BC) responded with an ambush in Selferedi Kebele, triggering intense close-quarters combat that continued from the early morning hours until evening. 🔵 The fighting left more than 27 regime personnel killed and 33 others critically wounded. Regime forces were ultimately compelled to withdraw from the area. On the Fano side, at least one fighter was confirmed killed. 🔵 On June 20th, Fano units under the Karamara Division launched a separate offensive against regime positions in Dasgundo town. The operation reportedly inflicted heavy casualties on the regime garrison and resulted in Fano forces regaining control of the town. 🔵 Following the reported battlefield setbacks, regime authorities allegedly imposed a communications blackout across affected areas of Metemma Woreda. #Amhara_War_Updates

@yonasxb As long as they are Orthodox and are practicing the faith correctly, why is it a problem if they baptise their tradition and adopt some elements from the Habesha tradition simultaneously? That’s a thing to appreciate. It’s not like they are Protestants appropriating tradition

why use kebero? or wear netela? or mezmur in general? why not practice the faith like the coptics do without “habesha” tradition.

@yonasxb forgive me, but the tradition is the record of the history of the faith in the region. it is what makes Tewahedo Tewahedo. Even if a white person were to convert in they would still wear Netela. these are beautiful things that belong to everone in the faith

⚡️Tigray Peace Force (TPF) mortar shelling kills six civilians after Fano offensive leaves 15 TPF personnel dead in Hamusit town, Sekota-Zuriya Woreda (📍Wag-Hemra Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia) on June 12th. 🔵 Fano units under the 303rd Corps (AFNM-MC) launched an early morning offensive on June 12 against TPF positions in Hamusit town, leading to intense fighting and significant casualties among the targeted forces. 🔵 The clashes left 15 TPF personnel killed, six others wounded, and two militia members captured. Fano forces also seized military equipment, including two GM-3 weapons, one M-40 weapon, and nine Kalashnikov rifles. 🔴 Following the engagement, TPF forces fired multiple 82-mm mortar rounds into residential areas of Hamusit town, killing six civilians and injuring more than 15 others. @yonasxb @Jigjigamedia Those migrant communities make up less than 9% of the region. They’re also not all Muslim. If we were to assume they were all Muslim (~8%), there is still around 10% native Muslim in the Amhara region (i.e Amhara Muslims) So yes, a large portion of them are certainly Amhara.

Ethiopian immigration officials initially refused to issue this woman an Ethiopian passport, believing she was Somali. However, after a lengthy discussion and further verification, they determined that she is an Amhara Muslim woman and subsequently granted her the passport. It is important to note that most immigration staff in Ethiopia are Amhara and Gurage, and they harbor negative sentiments towards Somali Ethiopians, often viewing all Somalis as not truly Ethiopian.
