@Kon__K We have diplomatic ties with them, we kicked out their diplomats and shut their embassy and declared their government terrorist. To me it seems like a pretty fair go, we'd need to vet 7200 people and they're terrible at that.

@TMFScottP I can see the argument for lowering the excise especially since it is so high and some states pay that again I am told, also if we are at a point where people are like of shit fuels out are they really going to spend more elsewhere?

@dcjams I'd say that would be the bkg bonus and the gearing up and down hills but I'd be wary on the mechanics still diesel engines are easy enough and keep going forever.

My dad's a trucker. Electric semis sound "farfetched" to him.⁣ ⁣ But in Long Beach, there's a waitlist of drivers wanting to switch to electric trucks.⁣ ⁣ Why? No fumes, no vibrations, quiet cab, one-pedal driving.⁣ ⁣ Once truckers actually drive these things, they get it.

@_warrenhogan Drive or combat? I am damn sure there is a point where expected wage growth starts to tip inflation as well.

@TheAusInstitute Very well worded to make it seem like you are 100% correct but it is very unlikely that 100% of late last year's inflation came from companies profits at all. Much more likely this is another well worded article to try and stir up the people and garner some sway in a party room.

“Given [the increase in inflation] happened before the Iran War and the surge in oil prices, the very great worry is that this will just be the start, and a repeat of 2022 and 2023 is set to follow." Read the full piece on The Point: theaus.in/4taGWQL

David Shoebridge says we should be making decisions based on our national interest. “Not on the national interest of the United States, not on the national interest of Israel…”💥 Are The Greens the only party putting Australia first? #Iran

@Girishsawlani @withMEAA No one wants a job at the abc if their sane, your jobs are pretty secure, don't like that inflation is so high it is running any wage growth then stop running politically biased programs towards the people causing it.

I love working for the ABC. But my colleagues are struggling to continue that work, because jobs are insecure and unsustainable. We're striking today to call on ABC management to provide us with an EBA offer that provides quality jobs. @withMEAA #QualityNewsQualityJobs

Albo acknowledges that pokies are “overwhelmingly” the largest cause of gambling harm in Australia but is doing diddly squat about this. His Labor Party even runs four predatory pokies venues in Canberra and Sydney, something no other political party in the world does.

@LouiChristopher Mate I've even talked to recently moved migrants and they've said the same, growing to quick needs to slow down to many people to fast. Why diminish the living standards of people here and the people who intend to come here when we don't have to.

You know, Australia's housing crisis is a supply AND a demand issue. To resolve it, policies are required to address both. Resolving on the demand side, though, is THE quickest way to get us back to equilibrium. To get us back to some sense of improved affordability. And that, of course, is addressed fairly and quickly by reducing migration. It is a simple equation, yet the main parties and powers don't want to acknowledge the elephant in the room. Or worse, they disingenuously turn it into a race issue. "Don't blame migrants!" Well, I think the majority of people see through this gaslighting. And now that there is an economic crisis upon us, the patience and niceties of the people are going to ware very thin indeed. Unemployment is about to rise. Rents will accelerate from the current 6%pa. So, if the powers that be, continue on with making the people feel guilty about lowering our migration rate, then they will lose their power. It is a certainty, now.

@korkmaz9536 @LouiChristopher The service departments are overrun, I am not sure where you are but our closest hospital is nuts I did the same thing as that old bloke twice now because there wasn't anywhere to sit down. Also no need to have your family and extended family there for one person's headache.

@LouiChristopher Recently I spent a night in the emergency department of the hospital in our fast-growing suburb. All night, I watched an elderly man wait to see a doctor in vain. By morning, he finally left; not treated, but consumed by despair and anger. As an immigrant myself, I felt guilty.

@BaldingPhillip No it isn't there sre plenty of roles an electric truck can't fill here yet. Also diesel engines last forever with a rebuild or two some outlast the chassis itself.

This trucks lfp battery costs probably $60k and saves $1200 a day Will charge 2000-3000 times Unbelievably dumb to still have brand new diesel trucks on the market
Sydney EV 🔋☀️@sydney_ev

a Windrose #EV Truck, just competed a loaded B Double run from Sydney to Canberra non stop, no need to charge, 100% electric. total cost $50 approx. Diesel would have cost near $500 or more. We have solutions to our fuel crisis.. #auspol #trucking brisbanetimes.com.au/environment/cl…
