To some this may look unappetizing but it’s a BBQ staple unique to South Carolina. Barbecue Hash is basically a meat gravy or it could be called liquid sausage.

You could never convince people from outside of SC that Hash & Rice or Liver Pudding is good by just showing them the pictures lol. Both dishes look kinda slack but both good as hell though.

I bet >90% of people hating on hash bc they think it looks like doo doo would eat an entire plate of it like a hungry Ethiopian then asked for seconds if they actually tried it. Whole hog means whole hog and back in the day, nothing went to waste. Some of our best comfort food in the South was created before the 20th century when times were actually tough.
