Watching the progressive commentary over the @JoeSquawk - @PeteButtigieg spat is enlightening because it shows how little the left knows about economics, or understands economic history. Buttigieg is literally taking credit for bringing the RATE of inflation down by the end of the Biden presidency, ignoring the fact that he RATE hit 9% and prices remained elevated throughout the @JoeBiden years because of trillions of dollars in unnecessary fiscal stimulus and Fed money printing. Prices NEVER came down; it's one big reason @KamalaHarris lost (that plus the Dem Party believes men can be women and women men, but I'll save that for another posting). @realDonaldTrump inherited those elevated prices. He also grew the economy without a massive uptick in inflation. Ok the war will have an economic impact, but the people who think this guy "won" an argument about inflation really need to take econ 101. Also where was Pete during the supply-chain crisis? Paternity leave? What a joke

I’m Catholic. I haven’t TRUSTED a Pope since Benedict, before him John Paul. The last two have given me the Willie’s. Wanting US to have open borders, including LBGTQIA people into our faith and the huge amounts of money laundering have made me suspicious. Excommunication of our VP? But welcoming Muslims? I’m uncomfortable with Leo’s positions. I honestly don’t think anyone from Trump Admin met with any Cardinals. The original story has “unnamed sources “, which tells me it’s FAKE. Pope Leo isn’t listening to his CHURCH.

My best friends are Catholic, I have been to mass so many times before and even to St. Peters in NYC. I love Catholic people but this new Pope is evil, you can sense it in your bones. He may be the false Pope as many have said to be in the future. The church needs to remove him before he destroys the entire church. I don’t care where he is from, evil comes from all countries.

I am not trying to make my Catholic friends, who I love, angry with this statement. But this entire episode is starting to explain to me why so many Americans were concerned about a Catholic president for so long. I have no interest in Rome trying to dictate American policy. And if it continues to loudly make its opinions heard on our foreign policy, I believe they’re going to find a lot of American Protestants feeling a lot less ecumenical than we have been in the more recent past.
