@ArchysLife Nazi I guess. Every Nazi was of course an esoteric theorist of the ancient Nordic order and 95% of them totally werenโ€™t just your typical venal authoritarian motivated by little else but self-interest, consumption and sadism or anything.

Might be of interest to the Turkish history nerds who follow me - the debate over whether the name of the founder of the Ottoman dynasty was "Osman" or "Ataman" seems to have been decidedly resolved in favor of the already-predominant "Osman" theory.

Osman - Ataman cedeli artฤฑk tamamen bitti, diyebiliriz. Yฤฑldฤฑrฤฑm'da gerรงekleลŸen Osmanlฤฑ'nฤฑn KuruluลŸu sempozyumunda Dr. Betรผl Teoman, ilk defa sunduฤŸu bir Orhan Gazi sikkesinde 'noktalฤฑ peltek se ve ayn harfli' Osman ismini net bir ลŸekilde gรถsterdi.

The 1887s was the first time I understood what something broken was in a video game. 9 year old me got clapped from across the screen exactly like this and I watched that killcam entirely convinced it was utter bullshit

@Localist132215 @RacePopeIII Yeah I agree with that. For what itโ€™s worth I think English should be codified as the national language of America, I just took issue with the idea of totally rewriting our legal and civic language when Latin is like, *the* foundation of it all across the West.

@BrianMerris @RacePopeIII Itโ€™s hardly the only source, but it is the original, & as the original has not just a right but a need to conform the rest in large part. You canโ€™t promote spanish or German as an alternative American language just cuz both are European, and likewise the same notion applies.

@Localist132215 @RacePopeIII Not a bad point tbh. Like my background is Italian and German and yet I feel Iโ€™d be much more comfortable and โ€œat homeโ€ living in Britain than in Italy or Germany so I suppose the โ€œSaxonizationโ€ kind of worked lol

@BrianMerris @RacePopeIII Thats a false dichotomy. The mindset behind the migration of the 19th century and early 20th, was to saxonize other Europeans, and then this was connected further to Frontier Thesis where it took on an indigenization element. You start with the Anglo-Saxon and then move outward

@Localist132215 @RacePopeIII Anglo-Saxon identity should remain highly respected and valued as the root of our founding, of course, but the reality is it is simply no longer viable as the *only* source of our values. Just my read on the current state of affairs, anyway.

@Localist132215 @RacePopeIII I totally agree that what youโ€™re describing is *the* foundational ethos of America, but with the way things went, upholding it above all others *today* just seems like clinging to an idea of America that was lost a century ago.

@Localist132215 @RacePopeIII And not to appeal to history but with the way the American nation developed in the 19th and 20th centuries with broader European immigration it seems that this more pan-European approach was just the right way to go.

@Localist132215 @RacePopeIII I understand the appeal of that but at the end of the day I suppose im sympathetic to a more โ€œpan-Westernโ€ identity for America rather than a specifically English one, and Latin is the perfect fit for that. Itโ€™s already a foundational pillar of the English language anyway.
