@PalmyrPar I already boycotted the Dune Sequels because the cheap fucks abandoned converting them to 3D. Which is a tragedy, because the vast desert landscapes looked INCREDIBLE in 3D in the first movie. And I can't stand watching Part 2 knowing how much better the experience could've been

@JohnLeFevre Also, none of them have much interest in 'AAA' games! The kids are now 13 & 8, and they prefer games like Minecraft, Gorilla Tag or breaking bones in Skate 3. We have Xbox Series S, Meta Quest 3 & PC, but all I ever see them playing are games that look like they'd run on a 360.

Hypothesis: Maybe, DLSS5 was originally intended as the main feature for the (now delayed) RTX 60 series. That series could therefore include dedicated hardware units to accelerate DLSS5. The performance requirements of DLSS5 should then become manageable with the RTX 60 series.

@opinali Trouble is that unlike traditional DLSS, it's not using a 'high quality' real rendered frame as the target! So the result is 100% AI generated replacement frames that are based exclusively on screen space elements. It's impressive they can now churn out 60 AI Frames Per Second!

@haibaneinsect Best you can usually get is 'LieMAX'. Where they retrofitted 'regular' cinemas with taller 1.9:1 screens, and also 'remove' the front row of seats to effectively move the audience slightly closer to the screen. Which acts to increase the apparent screen size ;).
