I stumbled upon WavViewDX this afternoon. Seems like a cool tool for my #MWDX challenge. rweiss.de/dxer/tools.html

@FMDXIreland @DXCentral This is interesting. I think I'm going to give this a try: n3ox.net/projects/flag. Thanks Paul for the tips! :-)
English

@DR4D10 @DXCentral The advantage of these terminated loops is that they are unidirectional instead of front and back pckup - Mark Connelly in the US used to use a very small one on the top of his car sometimes.
English

@FMDXIreland @DXCentral I can of course build one about 5 meters wide if I want to try to receive the West Coast. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. :-)
English

@FMDXIreland @DXCentral If you make a KAZ, Pennant or K9AY antenna to small, then it loses the advantages over an active loop antenna. Or we would have to move to a house with a large garden, but I'm afraid that isn't going to happen for the time being. ;-)
English

@FMDXIreland @DXCentral From what I've read, an active loop antenna is best for me. My MLA-30+ with a larger loop and lower gain (to reduce intermodulation) works well, but it could be better.
English

@FMDXIreland I know that antenna. @DXCentral has a few too. Unfortunately, that doesn't fit in our garden. :-(
English

@DR4D10 hey Danny I have a trianglular wire loop - its 3m high 12 m wide - i feed it back to house and then it's gets amplified a little. Google KAZ loop.
English

@PA9X Congratulations! Plenty of space, no more antenna compromises, and less QRM. :-)

New QTH next month. Idea for the new antenne setup: Double Zepp 2x ±14m legs in inverted V with center 14m up a mast. Feed it through a CG-3000 remote auto tuner, 1:1 balun and 14m 450 Ohm ladder line. Should cover 80 meters up to 10 meters and possibly 6 meters. #hamradio

Staring at the BFM Spectrum of SDR Console during a fading DX signal, hoping that the RDS signal briefly emerges from the noise… the life of an #FMDX-er. 😂

@riprap1 Sennheiser offers logper antennas for their wireless sets. But I don't think you should put that on your head. 😂

The Best Scanner You Can Buy! - The Uniden SDS200 Scanner. P25, DMR & NX... youtu.be/mN9uFN7OxuM?si… Good review!!!

@riprap1 Especially the one between 512 and 758 MHz. There are a lot of wireless microphones and studio links in that gap. I would personally choose an AOR AR-DV1. But despite that, the Uniden STS200 remains a cool scanner.

And I've dusted off another old IQ recording. This time, one from June 9, 2022. And we kick off with BNR Radio Shumen (BUL). :-) #FMDX
English

@riprap1 Since they started giving names to storms in Europe, they seem a lot more intense. ;-)

Last night, for the first time in ages, I listened to the entire MW band with the FDM-S3 and the modified MLA-30+ (NW/SE) in the attic. And this time I did take the trouble to identify most of them. ;-) What a wonderful hobby we have! :-) #MWDX
