Can anyone recommend a good monitor calibrator for artists? My @Datacolor Spyder 4 pro will not load in the calibration, and when I try to recalibrate, it gives me 'err = 999' and will not calibrate the white point. It seems to be broken since the last windows update. I've tried reinstalling the software, but nothing seems to work. So if any of you wonderful people can give a recommendation for a decent monitor calibrator, I would very much appreciate it.

@canonrumorsguy Fuck @Datacolor. I have spent hundreds of euros on their calibration tools (Spyder 3 and 4); driver support ends way too soon. My Spyder 4 was bricked because of that only 4 years after I bought it new!

Despite calibrating my MacBook Pro’s monitor with a @Datacolor Spyder, the colours appear over saturated and it has too much contrast. Any recommendations on a website (with data) to validate what I’m seeing? #photography

Almost bought a new screen calibrator from @Datacolor. But found this one in a box in my room. Still want to get the new new though. My XPS 13 with USB-C could use some calibration.

Folks, need help. I am trying to colour calibrate my system. The contrast is at minimum and I have tried increasing it, but the indicator isn’t moving. is there a way to take the contrast even lower? @Datacolor @AppleSupport #photograghy

@Datacolor Thanks. I got that from the email. That wasn't my point. Point was: people don't upgrade their displays that often. So trying to scare them with end-of-support doesn't really work. Even if you drop support, there's no good reason to buy a new Spyder for the same old display ;)

Listen @Datacolor, I know "display technologies are constantly evolving" . But people aren't constantly buying new ones. Mine are the same as they were when I bought the Spyder 5. So why on earth would I waste 200€ on a new Spyder I use once in a blue moon for the same display?

I updated my @Datacolor @SpyderX and now my display shows greenish tint in light neutral almost whites. Before update those greenish tones were slightly on the magentaish side. Looks like this calibrator is crap.

So I'm wanting to make my videos more color accurate, either I'm gonna need to buy a better monitor or calibrate the one I have. So I guess, does anyone have experience with the @Datacolor Spyder and could possibly loan me a unit. Or know any other ways to calibrate a display?

@donatzsky @MandicReally Hi, your information is just incorrect. The current Spyder have no filter that can degrade at all. Also the Spyder software over very good an much faster than any other. @MandicReally @Datacolor The Spyders are known to be inaccurate and inconsistent, due to the color filters used. In any case, I recommend using DisplayCAL instead of whatever software came with the device. Tutorial here: phototacopodcast.com/photographers-…

Anyone who Color Calibrates their monitors, do you feel the settings they want are actually good? My @Datacolor Spyder is always trying to make my monitors annoyingly dim & warm color temp. It doesn’t feel accurate to the general viewing experience for my audience. Thoughts?
