@fathers_rule @Eric_Conn Again, this is the poetic reference to the shepherds rods, which they used to tap and prod and guide sheep. It’s not literally saying to beat your child with a stick. It’s part of collection poetry and wisdom literature for a reason.

Hitting your kids is in the same category as circumcision, iPads, strict adherence to the CDC vaccine schedule---it is for Ns, goyim, and walmart pajama people. It lowers IQ (Straus, 1995), increases aggression (Gershoff, 2016), is less effective than a timeout, and requires escalation to keep working. The replies to articles like this are filled up with the Dumbest People Who Ever Existed saying "it worked for me" and then genuinely malicious and hateful morons dropping reaction gifs of like daffy duck swinging a belt "EVERY STATE IN AMERICA ALLOWS YOU TO PHYSICALLY CORRECT YOUR CHILD. It's legal. It's fun. Bring it on." -- profile says: Cat Sanctuary Dad. Unyielding steel. Workouts, keto, cat chaos, anime rants. Godzilla, Gundam, Mazinger, Ultraman, classical art, manga. If you hit your kids, you will create permanent emotional distance with the only person/people you could ever be that close to, not to mention sending them down the road of being as much of a lost fuckup loser as you are who will hit their own kids, or wont, but only after spending a decade figuring out why they reflexively apologize all the time.

@actuallyurgay @BigDickBarclay @wigger Actual Christianity teaches that the hierarchy of affections is God first, family, local community, then nation. Nowhere does it say that you have to love invaders. All religions put faith first, obviously.

The problem with someone like @jockowillink is that they're completely subservient to the state. He is a fantastic example of masculinity but also a failure to be an agent of change. We need the latter at this time.

People can speculate all they want to about the situation with Dalton Eatherly, aka ChudtheBuilder, and Joshua Fox, but the surveillance video was used in determining who was at fault and that’s why Dalton was charged like he was, not because they’re trying to make an example out of him, because they’re oppressing him and his rights, or whatever goofy claims his followers are saying. Here’s the deal: Dalton’s whole schtick was people shouldn’t react over words. They were in a verbal altercation. If Dalton went to draw his weapon and threatened to use it because of “words”, it’s very plausible that Fox reacted to save his own life. If someone draws a weapon on you or is attempting to, your true “fight or flight” instinct will kick in. That video will eventually surface, and maybe even the livestream. But right now, it’s clear that Dalton was at fault here according to authorities and because he shot sporadically, hitting Fox, himself, and other buildings in the area where people walk to/from and work in, that’s why Dalton’s bond is so high: he’s a public danger and liability. "A lot of the anti-Israel stuff is on its way out." We need to be dynamic in approaching this very tricky topic. The audience will move on if we are stuck repeating the same talking points.

Let me break it down for the non-technical folks: The velocity of code review and ability to synthesize generated code at scale into your full understanding of the software, bottlenecks AI velocity to human scale. But wait, you might say! The developers skip writing code and just have to review. Well, what actually happens in practice is not writing code delays learning, placing a greater burden on the reviewer to synthesize PRs into their understanding of the system. You get one of three outcomes: - AI speed bottlenecked to human speed (e.g. no benefit, with an increase in laziness) - Reviewer fatigue and burnout from trying to keep up with AI velocity (e.g. huge benefits, but they aren't sustainable) - Low quality or irresponsible code review (e.g. the YOLO problem, trading velocity gains up front for technical debt to fixed later. Like giving in to auto-approval mode in Claude Code) x.com/archidapp/stat…

This is an email I sent earlier today to all employees at Coinbase: Team, Today I’ve made the difficult decision to reduce the size of Coinbase by ~14%. I want to walk you through why we're doing this now, what it means for those affected, and how this positions us for the future. Why now Two forces are converging at the same time. We need to be front footed to respond to both. First, the market. Coinbase is well-capitalized, has diversified revenue streams, and is well-positioned to weather any storm. Crypto is also on the verge of the next wave of adoption, with stablecoins, prediction markets, tokenization, and more taking off. However, our business is still volatile from quarter to quarter. While we've managed through that cyclicality many times before and come out stronger on the other side, we’re currently in a down market and need to adjust our cost structure now so that we emerge from this period leaner, faster, and more efficient for our next phase of growth. Second, AI is changing how we work. Over the past year, I’ve watched engineers use AI to ship in days what used to take a team weeks. Non-technical teams are now shipping production code and many of our workflows are being automated. The pace of what's possible with a small, focused team has changed dramatically, and it's accelerating every day. All of this has led us to an inflection point, not just for Coinbase, but for every company. The biggest risk now is not taking action. We are adjusting early and deliberately to rebuild Coinbase to be lean, fast, and AI-native. We need to return to the speed and focus of our startup founding, with AI at our core. What this means To get there, we are not just reducing headcount and cutting costs, we’re fundamentally changing how we operate: rebuilding Coinbase as an intelligence, with humans around the edge aligning it. What does this mean in practice? - Fewer layers, faster decisions: We are flattening our org structure to 5 layers max below CEO/COO. Layers slow things down and create coordination tax. The future is small, high context teams that can move quickly. Leaders will own much more, with as many as 15+ direct reports. Fewer layers also means a leaner cost structure that is built to perform through all market cycles. - No pure managers: Every leader at Coinbase must also be a strong and active individual contributor. Managers should be like player-coaches, getting their hands dirty alongside their teams. - AI-native pods: We’ll be concentrating around AI-native talent who can manage fleets of agents to drive outsized impact. We’ll also be experimenting with reduced pod sizes, including “one person teams” with engineers, designers, and product managers all in one role. In short: AI is bringing a profound shift in how companies operate, and we’re reshaping Coinbase to lead in this new era. This is a new way of working, and we need to leverage AI across every facet of our jobs. To those who are affected I know there are real people behind these decisions — talented colleagues who have poured themselves into this company and our mission. To those of you who will be leaving: thank you. You’ve helped build Coinbase into what it is today, and I am sincerely grateful for everything you've done. All impacted team members will receive an email to their personal account in the next hour with more information, and an invitation to meet with an HRBP and a senior leader in your organization. Coinbase system access has been removed today. I know this feels sudden and harsh, but it is the only responsible choice given our duty to protect customer information. To those affected, we will be providing a comprehensive package to support you through this transition. US employees will receive a minimum of 16 weeks base pay (plus 2 weeks per year worked), their next equity vest, and 6 months of COBRA. Employees on a work visa will get extra transition support. Those outside of the US will receive similar support, based on local factors and subject to any consultation requirements. Coinbase prides itself on talent density. Our employees are among the most talented people in the world, and I have no doubt that your skills and experience will be highly sought after as you pursue your next chapters. How we move forward To the team that is staying, I know this is a difficult day. We’re saying goodbye to colleagues and friends you've been in the trenches with. But here’s what I want you to know as we move forward together: Over the past 13 years, we have weathered four crypto winters, gone public, and built the most trusted platform in our industry. We’ve made it this far by making hard decisions and by always staying focused on our mission. This time will be no different – nothing has changed about the long term outlook of our company or industry. And most importantly, our mission has never been more important for the world. Increasing economic freedom requires a new financial system, and we’re building it. The Coinbase that emerges from this will be more capable than ever to achieve our mission. Brian

@RhoRider Yep. Was just talking to my coworker about this today. I'm barely saving time due to having to correct mistakes and having to verify everything. Ai is extremely overblown and my company is using it heavily. Over engineering seems to be a major problem so far IMO

So I went all in on automating my job the last 3 months…spent 200+ hours and burned $1000s in Claude Code credits on a company API plan. Set up >25 agents and analysis / reporting routines with meticulously developed skill files to drive. Today, I only use maybe 5% of the tools I built. tbh I got burnt out of the endless loop of manually verifying every data point & math output, debugging, iterating, arguing with the LLM prompt cycle. I got sick of constantly re explaining context despite having hard coded context files. While it *feels* like I’m getting far more done with AI, i’ve added up the time it takes to get polished results, and found in many cases i’m only modestly saving time vs a “good enough” manual equivalent. I can’t deny AI has unlocked new capabilities for me to do my job…but it’s also adding on scope that cancels out efficiency gains YMMV

. @jakeshieldsajj brought me to meet @DanBilzerian. When we got to his house, Dan smashed my phone with a hammer and said, I’m a fed and I’m here to entrap you. I was like, “What?” They both laughed so I just thought it was a joke. We went down a secret passage way that was guarded by a 9 foot troll who Dan placated with a few snacks. Once past the troll, he led us into a sound proof room which was next to the room with the batting cage. (This detail verifies that I’m telling the truth because we all know the batting cage is real so so is the rest of this story.) As soon as the door shut he said, “Now that we’re in this sound proof room with no electronic devices to record us, I need you to tell me the nuclear codes.” I looked at him, thinking this was another joke. He slammed his fist on the table - it was an oak table, dark brown and rectangular but also a square. He said, “This isn’t a joke. You need to help us get those nuclear codes. We’re going to nuke the fuck out of Israel. Those damn jew kіkеs will never suspect an Albanian with a fat ass. You guys are the nіggеrs of Europe. You’re basically retarded. Everyone knows that. Some people say Albanians aren’t even real. They’re just Turks who got left in the Balkans after the Ottoman Empire fell apart.” I was like, “Dan, where are you going with this?” He pulled out а gun, held it to Jake’s head and said, “you get those fucking nuclear codes here by midnight or it’s nighty night for Jake. Do you understand?” Next thing I knew, I woke up in a room next to Nick Fuentes jacking off to trаииy porn. I still don’t know if Jake made it out of there alive. This is so fucking weird. Did anyone else have this experience?
