@markuswrites @Pjohnnners Brook is a Kevin Petersen type. Hugely talented (can probably coast on his talent) yet immensely frustrating.

@DirofnoLearning @Pjohnnners That’s part of it. Duckett also almost certainly wants to play👍🏻 If it’s about form that doesn’t massively absolve Brook who by his standards underperformed in the ashes. Many people in my replies who think he needs to work on things in fc cricket

Harry Brook is golfing in Augusta instead of, er, playing cricket for Yorkshire? He and Root obviously have significant playing commitments but it’s odd how little they play for Yorkshire Surrey, on the other hand, generally have England players flocking back to play for them.

@fastpitstop @noobbricks No one deserves death threats over what is, fundamentally, just a sporting event. If you can't have that perspective then you have no place in any sport.

@noobbricks Masi hasn’t even apologized. No remorse or regret after harming someone. He deserved the backlash.

No Michael Masi doesn’t deserve any pity. He broke 3 regulations after Jonathan Weathley, a Red Bull employee, asked him to. He was unfit to do his job, cheated someone out of a world championship and rightfully got sacked. And yet the enabler gets more empathy than the victim.

@markuswrites @Pjohnnners Why do you think they want Duckett to play loads? Because he had a poor Ashes tour and despite being a shoe-in opener they want him to regain form. Root and Brook are locked in at no. 4 and 5 and are in relative form, especially Root.

@DirofnoLearning @Pjohnnners If you’ve been reading my replies you’ll know that the idea that a player has zero control on their play time - the ECB magically want Duckett to play loads (played more cricket than root recently) but Brook/Root to play not even a handful of games - is just rollocks mate.

@Deanforste30757 Yes and I've done advanced driving These don't slow anyone down they just cause reckless driving and many more hazards for cyclists and pedestrians and people turning in and out of the adjacent roads They are in completely the wrong places

@markuswrites @Pjohnnners People have already explained to you that the ECB control each player's schedule. Those who are playing for their counties will have been released to do so. If you can't understand that after the sixth explanation I can't help you.

@Pjohnnners @markuswrites With central contracts, the ECB are their primary employers and control their schedule. In the era you mention It was the other way round.

@markuswrites Big fan of Root but he has given little attention to Yorkshire for years. Hope Brook doesn’t go the same way. I guess it’s about money. Different era but what would Fred, Closey, Illy etc have done?

I wonder perhaps if maybe they could also look into the enormous weight of electric cars.

@DirofnoLearning @JonForest09 @peterrhague @_imey @JeremyClarkson Well, the way things are going they have a point. There is a reason you see a lot of 4WDs in South Africa these days and fewer Golfs. Give it a couple of years and British roads will likely look similar in some parts of the UK.

@JonForest09 @peterrhague @_imey @JeremyClarkson Unless you're going off road or physically impaired, why is it good? A lower centre of gravity means the car handles better, which is important given the nature of our roads in the UK.

@peterrhague @_imey @JeremyClarkson No they aren't, they're worse. Full size SUVs with four wheel drive like the Defender have a purpose. The cars in that list are just hatchbacks that are higher off the ground and heavier. There is no excuse for buying a Tiguan when you can buy a Golf.

@DirofnoLearning for me Lewi’s performance it’s much better, also because he compete with drivers like Alonso Kimi ecc, driver that I think that are better than the one who compete with Stewart

@DirofnoLearning @TheRoboteer Of course it’s comparable. If the ‘uproar’ was ‘entirely justified’ then surely Pourchaire would have performed miles better, regardless of the circumstances. But he didn’t, and everyone saw that hence why a smaller team didn’t pick him up

@nedzo_f1 @TheRoboteer To follow up on your average finish nonsense, Siegel had six consecutive races in the same car. Pourchaire had six races on and off in two different cars, including jumping in the car mid weekend for his last one. So not even comparable.

@nedzo_f1 @TheRoboteer You're clutching at straws with the average stat argument. Siegel wasn't signed because of his endurance ability; he was signed because his family paid McLaren a truckload of money. This is common knowledge and he's been embarrassing in that car.

@TheRoboteer @nedzo_f1 Siegel has never deserved that seat and is only there because of his money, no matter how much Kanaan likes to claim he has talent to be unlocked. The uproar when McLaren ditched Pourchaire was entirely justified; they may as well have not bothered entering the car.

@nedzo_f1 Taking a driver you like failing to perform with this level of delusion just makes you look ridiculous. It's not an indictment of Siegel as a person or even a driver that Indycar hasn't worked out for him, but to deny that reality is ludicrous
