@Disintegrator @kauljade I think this depends entirely on what kind of book we're talking about. If it's non-fiction and you're only interested in specific parts of what the book is covering, I can understand wanting to skim some parts, but if it's a proper narrative? I feel like you shouldn't skim read.

@kauljade depends on the book and your reading style. once people realize that youre not going to be tested on the book and its totally okay to skim over parts you think are boring then reading becomes much more enjoyable.

@Disintegrator There is a massive loss, imo, in not reading the text as it was written just bc parts of it aren’t as interesting or enjoyable. But you do you, I just find it utterly appalling to read a book that way.

@Disintegrator @kauljade For me, I don’t really feel like either is faster unless I raise the speed on the audiobook. I don’t read nearly as many audiobooks as I do physical or ebooks. I agree about getting distracted… I take a break if I’m unfamiliar with a word so I can add it to my dictionary app.

@ChicSheri @kauljade its different for everyone but reading a written book is much faster for me than listening to an audiobook. the only thing that slows me down with a written book is getting distracted; in that instance the audiobook keeps going on its own and so thats faster kinda.
