@paulg @RepThomasMassie That's an important distinction. "Convinced" implies choice; "made" implies responsibility lies elsewhere.

@RepThomasMassie I think the phrasing you want is "made Trump start it." When you're convinced to do something, you can change your mind if it doesn't work out. It's only when you're being made to do something that you can't stop.

The more Netanyahu prevents the war with Iran from ending, the more obvious it becomes that he convinced Trump to start it.

🚨 AI Tool Exposed Everyone on X is calling this the "ChatGPT killer." So I tested it. Results: • 90% hype • 8% useful • 2% actually game-changing Most AI tools are wrappers. The real advantage isn't the tool. It's knowing how to use it. #AI #AITools #Tech

Personal update: I’ve joined @SpaceX and @xAI. After investing in the future of work and AI at Bloomberg Beta, it became clear: AI capabilities are advancing and compounding at an unprecedented rate. It only made sense to join the team accelerating the fastest and to build the future directly. Excited to be working on making life multi-planetary and building AI to understand the universe. If you’re a high-agency builder and want to join the mission, DM me. Ad Astra! 🚀

@garrytan Interesting take. If model capabilities converge, the real moat won't be the model itself it'll be the routing, workflows, data, and user experience built around it. The AI Harness Wars might be bigger than the Model Wars. 👀🚀

@paulg Exactly. Clear writing is usually the result of clear thinking. If you can't explain it simply, you probably don't understand it well enough yet.

The most important component of writing clearly is simply to have high standards for clarity. Then if you write something unclear, you notice, and ask: what did I mean to say? You can just keep doing this over and over. And if you have high standards for clarity, you will.

Refortifai is building Atrisa, agents for analog circuit design. It reasons hierarchically about your circuit, finds the right topologies for your specs, and does deep-dive debugging — all with awareness of parasitics, physical layout, reusability, and interference. Bring your existing PDKs, design docs, and toolkit and Atrisa will understand and adopt them. Congrats on the launch, @Cyan9800, @RithikWasHere, and @AtmanKar! ycombinator.com/launches/QdM-r…

Gusto cofounder @edawerd says today is the most important day in Gusto's history since launch. They just shipped Gusto Cofounder, an AI agent that you talk to through texting and Slack that automates almost everything a small business does in its back office. He explains: "We start with all the problems that we're already helping our customers with — payroll, benefits, HR, scheduling — then we bring on a lot of the power of AI into it." "You tell us what your business processes are, starting with payroll, benefits, and all these things we're already doing for you. And Gusto Cofounder will basically run your business process for you." "You communicate with it through SMS and Slack. You don't really even interface with it through a website." "And we connect to all the systems that you're using outside of Gusto as well. Notion, QuickBooks, Google Workspace... Gusto Cofounder brings it all together into one place where it automates your business processes."

Over the past year, we've been building our own internal agent infrastructure at YC: over 350 tools, self-improving skill loops, and a shared organizational brain that gets smarter overnight. In this episode of the @LightconePod, we sat down with YC General Partner Pete @koomen to talk about how he led the effort from the ground up. We cover how giving agents unrestricted access to one database was the key unlock, the self-improving skill loops that get smarter overnight, and why he thinks we've arrived at the personal computer moment for AI. 00:39 — YC's AI Stack 02:15 — The Finance Team Problem That Started It All 05:07 — SQL Access Changes Everything 07:20 — One Database to Rule Them All 09:14 — Jevons Paradox 10:07 — Denormalizing for Agents 12:15 — The Single-Player Era of Agents 14:16 — 350 Tools and a Shared Registry 16:24 — Skillify, DRY, and MECE Resolvers 18:23 — The Self-Improving Dream Cycle 20:26 — The Two-Sentence Pitch Skill 23:06 — How Super Intelligence Compounds 25:10 — Recording Everything as a Building Layer 27:10 — The Shared Organizational Brain 29:18 — Trust-Default Culture as a Requirement 30:44 — Raising the Floor for New Employees 32:35 — Horseless Carriages 34:24 — Why Chat Is the Best Interface for Agents 38:50 — Just-in-Time Software 40:49 — Centralizing vs. Decentralizing AI 43:32 — The Personal AI Revolution

@ycombinator 100%. The cheapest bug to fix is the one you never write. A few minutes of planning can save hours of coding, debugging, and rebuilding later. 🚀

You can have a CEO, a designer, and an engineer look at your plan in plan mode before you and Claude or Codex write a single line... and that's powerful
Shail@Shail_2302_

Nobody talks about this: As a solo founder, I've been running Claude Code + Cowork side by side for NinniTales. Cowork for product thinking, planning, research. Claude Code (with @garrytan's gstack) for coding, QA, and code review. They're not the same tool. They complement each other. Took me a session to figure out the right split. Worth it.

@___faust____ 😂 Year 2 is when you realize the startup is growing faster than your documentation. Somehow the product works, the customers are happy, and nobody knows why.

Nobody warns you that startup stress doesn't disappear. Year 1: Nobody wants your product. Year 2: Everyone depends on you. Year 3: Things work, but one mistake can break months of progress. A few lessons from founders who made it through: • Customers teach more than advisors • Hiring mistakes are expensive • Inertia is a bigger competitor than rivals • Year 2 is where most founders quit • Gratitude is a competitive advantage The journey is never what you expect. Keep building. 🚀 #Startups #YCombinator #BuildInPublic

@paulg If the pattern is driven by underlying physical constraints, a simulation might predict it surprisingly well. The real challenge is figuring out which forces are actually shaping the curve. 👀

This sounds like a small thing but it's big. Platforms need to stay open and it shouldn't require a lot of work to get your data. Because where the AI harness wars are going... someone else's harness is just going to be you sharecropping someone else's AI ecosystem.

I'm really upset about this: OpenAI's Codex Desktop had a "Copy as Markdown" option for exporting full chat transcripts, but the feature vanished in an update a couple of days ago Genuinely my single favorite feature of Codex compared to Claude Code github.com/openai/codex/i…
