It’s crazy to think that the very studios that got me excited about Xbox could now be the ones at risk. 😞 I was a huge fan of the original Hellblade, and Arkane had already become one of my favorite studios thanks to games like Prey and Dishonored. When Xbox acquired Ninja Theory and Arkane, it genuinely changed how I looked at the platform. Before that, I was primarily a PlayStation player. For the first time, it felt like Xbox was building a future around the kinds of creative, single-player experiences I love. 🎮 That excitement eventually convinced me to buy my first Xbox console. Now we’re seeing reports and rumors suggesting that Ninja Theory and Arkane Lyon, the last remaining Arkane studio, could be at risk of closure. 💔 If that actually happens, then honestly a huge part of my interest in Xbox goes with them. Without Ninja Theory and Arkane, I probably never would have bought an Xbox in the first place. Such a depressing situation if any of this turns out to be true… :/ I just hope they manage to go independent instead of being shut down. That would be the best outcome. And to be honest, situations like this are exactly why I no longer celebrate acquisitions. It doesn’t matter whether it’s Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, or anyone else. Every acquisition gets celebrated as a win, but years later it’s often the studios, developers, and fans who end up paying the price. I’d rather see great studios stay independent than spend years wondering whether they’ll still exist tomorrow.

W.T.F. Ninja Theory, Compulsion Games and Double Fine are all at risk of closure according to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier. Mike Straw is reporting that he's heard the same for Arkane too. This is catastrophic, even for #Xbox.

@Gamerguy3025 @ClaireMax Have you played them? why are you conflating bad graphics with character design? the female characters in those games were varied, many were very attractive. We didn't complain back then because you didn't have an industrial scale attempt to uglify and masculinize women.

The game is called Fable. Do you know what a fable is, yorch? A fable is a story designed to teach a moral lesson. Specifically, one about kindness and compassion. About doing good for other people regardless of who they are or what they look like. The game literally rewards you for being kind to people, for uplifting them and helping improve their lives. And you’re concerned that you don’t find an NPC hot enough. I don’t understand how someone can be this willfully ignorant.

Fable’s reputation system is basically trying to teach people: Be likable. Help people. Build trust. Treat people well even when they are not designed for your attraction. The game is giving players a social tutorial. And some still went “but are the NPCs hot enough?” You failed.
