Alibaba bit of a rough quarter no? Ecommerce slowdown was expected and in line with Q4 China macro retail sales. 1% growth for Ali vs -3% for JD. The only two improvements over prior quarter are: 1) Cloud accelerates YoY (inc external customers), but: -- decelerates QoQ -- margins flat/down 2) ecommerce losses reduced from prior quarter, but: -- a lot of that has been conveniently moved to "others" -- net of that, losses are similar (but not higher, hey) Frankly, over the past 2 quarters in ecommerce, they have invested almost usd9bn to increase revenue by usd3bn. Ehem. They better come up with some good guidance for Q1 or the stock could have a tough day. (btw, how smart the market is, moving the share price from 180 at the beginning of Q4 to 135 today. Respect.)
