I'm ethnically Chinese, though consider myself Canadian first and Canada first (but have no qualms with and agree with those who say that national identity is more than just where one happens to be born) and completely agree with you. It pains me to see how many Canaidans are embracing the communist party and its ideals. Communism is a subversive and destructive ideology, which preys on naive children and turns them into resentful and hateful saboteurs. Most Canadians seem to believe everything they're fed by our state media, claim all the evidence which contradicts their beliefs as 'American propaganda', and consider themselves too educated to ever stoop to the level of doing their own research or honestly evaluating other perspectives. Most Canadians are not willing to accept that the values they were programmed to believe in and champion for decades have led to disaster, and would rather the nation burn than admit they were wrong. It's similar to the zealotry of parents who have transitioned their kids. To even entertain the idea they might not be right would mean they are responsible for subjecting those they love to immense suffering and hardship, and they simply cannot ever accept that possibility. They will fight tooth and nail to preserve their self-perception as 'the good guys' no matter how bad things get. Our nation is full of virtue-signalers who don't care about the consequences of their ideals, only that their ideals make them feel good.
