@ChillinJalfrezi @Telegraph Nope it is too broken to fix any other way, most are just adding nothing. I would bet the 80:20 rules applies in that 80% of the work is done by 20%

If there is any lesson to be taken from the pandemic, the Ukraine War, and now the Iran War, it is that Britain must become self-reliant in our most critical sectors. According to DEFRA, we rely on foreign imports for over a third of our food supply. In 2024, 44% of our energy was imported. Generic drugs account for around 80% of prescriptions in Britain, yet we produce only a fraction of what we need and remain heavily dependent on countries like India and China. Food, energy, and medicine. Pretty fundamental to a functioning first-world country, yet we are prepared to gamble our security in the name of "efficiency". Reshoring essential industries like these must be a priority for any government that wants to insulate our people from the chaos unfolding beyond the shores of Britain. This is a matter of national security, not mere fiscal policy. It would also bring high-quality jobs, industrial capacity, and investment back to Britain rather than sending them overseas. Everyone wins!

Whatever you think of Polanski, pretty much everything he says here is true. The economic consequences of the war in Iran will reach everyone in Britain - and as Israel continues to escalate the conflict, things will only get worse. The Greens - whose policies would utterly destroy this country - cannot be allowed to monopolise the moral high ground on this issue. We have maintained from the beginning that Britain should have no part in this war. Fighting Israelโ€™s wars for them is not in the national - or, indeed, international - interest.

Green leader Zack Polanski says the war in Iran is 'illegal' '18 days ago the US and Israel launched an illegal bombing campaign in Iran' 'This was not a war of self-defence. There was no imminent threat'

We will not lie to the British people. Restoring Britain will require decisions that are controversial and unpleasant. We are going to strip millions of healthy Brits who refuse to work of benefits. If that causes outrage from those who think the taxpayer owes them a living, so be it. We are going to deport all illegal and burdensome migrants. If that means millions go, so be it. We are going to outlaw incompatible cultural and religious practices. If that means those who refuse to integrate no longer feel welcome, so be it. We are going to execute pedophiles, rapists, and murderers if that is what the British people want. If that means we are condemned by subversive "human rights" groups, so be it. We take no pleasure in these measures. It is a damning indictment of our political class that they are necessary in the first place. But necessary they are.

Hereโ€™s former Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa on a united Ireland: โ€œThatโ€™s right, up the rebels. United Ireland! Thatโ€™s right. John Connolly, right? Just remember 1916. Easter Sunday. Did the mayor mention that?โ€

This sort of thing happened because Irish radicals were effectively given free reign by the cowardly British government to storm all over the country and burn the houses of landlords, refuse to pay rent, intimidate loyalists, etc That anarchy occurred in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The government let it happen And so many great homes were lost because they were burned or abandoned, and farmland was effectively expropriated by a government hostile to the rightful owners of property

On this St. Patrickโ€™s Day, 17th March, we celebrate the proud heritage and traditions of the island of Ireland, along with the enormous contribution of the Irish people - whether from Ulster or south of the border - to the life and history of the United Kingdom and the wider world. For generations, Irish men and women carried their culture, faith and spirit across the globe. Throughout the story of the United Kingdom and the British Empire, Irish communities helped build and shape nations in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and throughout the Commonwealth, where the Irish identity and tradition remain incredibly strong to this day. Montserrat in the Caribbean, as a British Overseas Territory, continues to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a public holiday and the Montserratians remain deeply proud of their British and Irish ancestry. Today is also a moment to reflect on the deep historic and human ties that bring the peoples of these islands together. Despite our checkered past, there is far more that unites the peoples of Great Britain and Ireland than divides us - and I hope that the closeness of our two great islands becomes closer still. Wishing everyone a very Happy St. Patrickโ€™s Day!
