I have just come off the phone with the Government, who confirmed that they will award the New Medium Helicopter contract to Leonardo in Yeovil. ⬇️

After today’s debate on the New Medium Helicopter programme:
It’s welcome the Gov says the contract won’t just time out.
But Yeovil needs urgency. @Leonardo_UK, our Armed Forces and thousands of local jobs depend on this decision.
Talks must now lead to action. I’ll keep pushing.

@MartinSLewis How about banning phone for miners- especially in schools there is no real need for children to have phones- their development should be on social, motor & basics english, maths science and the arts! Not technology thats full of dishonesty propaganda and harmful content.

Mandatory digital IDs are the wrong direction for our country. Nobody should be forced to hand over their private data just to go about daily life. I will keep speaking out and standing with the @LibDems in opposing these plans.

Keir Starmer says everyone in the UK will be required to have mandatory digital ID. That’s not the kind of country we want to be. Liberal Democrats have always stood up to defend civil liberties against government overreach. We will fight tooth and nail to oppose these plans too.

@Adamjamesdance The closure of Yeovil’s maternity unit has been incredibly tough on families. Thanks to campaigners and Adam’s hard work, NHS Somerset have pledged to reopen it. But the wait has already gone on too long. Parents deserve care they can trust close to home.
