I think the Greens are a very important party. They’re not going to win the next general election, that much is clear. But the people they represent line up closely with how I see future conflict in Britain taking shape. If you’re a social scientist, they should be a central focus of your attention. I can’t stand the party or what it stands for. Polanski, in particular, comes across as oddly unserious and lacks the polish you see in someone like Mamdani. But that almost misses the point. He still taps into something real, those raw emotions and ‘animal spirits’ that are driving a significant slice of the population, especially younger voters. That’s why I find the Greens so fascinating right now. They offer a glimpse into where parts of the country are heading when things start to unravel.

@GunnerDobbins Nah.

“Even the literal Nazis, during WW2, rescued the survivors of ships their U-boats sank. It was considered a matter of basic honor.”

So my sense speaking to people is Greens are significantly outpolling Labour in areas where’s it’s a straight fight. But in areas where it’s Labour v Reform, (or should be) Reform are significantly outpolling Labour. But the Greens are broadly matching the Labour vote.

@JonathanRo11063 @owenjonesjourno @the0bservat0ry @GenosCharlie Indeed here are some minority voting intentions in the UK for 2024. One of these groups is primarily Muslim - and it is *not* the one with the strongest single party bloc. Will you also be arguing that Jewish, Black or Indian immigrants and their descendants are foreign blocs?

BREAKING International election observers have claimed they saw "concerningly high levels" of family voting in the Gorton and Denton by-election Family voting is an illegal practice where two voters use one polling booth at the same time. It can involve husbands instructing their wives how to vote Democracy Volunteers UK observed 32 cases of family voting in 15 of the 22 polling stations they observed. A spokesman for the organisation said it was the "highest levels of family voting at any election in our 10 year history of observing elections in the UK." John Ault, director of Democracy Volunteers, said: “Today we have seen concerningly high levels of family voting in Gorton and Denton. Based on our assessment of today’s observations, we have seen the highest levels of family voting at any election in our 10 year history of observing elections in the UK.’ “We rarely issue a report on the night of an election, but the data we have collected today on family voting, when compared to other recent by-elections, is extremely high. “In the other recent Westminster parliamentary by-election in Runcorn and Helsby we saw family voting in 12% of polling stations, affecting 1% of voters. In Gorton and Denton, we observed family voting in 68% of polling stations, affecting 12% of those voters observed.”

Anas Sarwar says "the leadership in Downing Street have become a huge distraction," as he calls for Sir Keir Starmer to resign as prime minister. Read more: bbc.in/4a6HsZl

This is why I’ve been saying what I have - only voting Labour defeats Reform. A vote for the Greens or any other party risks a Reform MP in Manchester.

🥀It’s over, Labour. Bring it on, Reform! 👇

Almost everybody I know still has a large student debt. Mine is £20k after 19 years. It’s basically a punitive tax. But craziest thing is this: I’ll pay the tax until 65 (2049). If I went to uni in 2006, not 2003, I’d pay until 2032. I have a random extra tax for *17 years* 🤣
