Boris was arguably the most famous politician when Mayor of London yet he travelled all over London on his bicycle with NO security and on the tube where he was usually inundated for selfies. Yet Khan immediately took a bomb proof carrier flanked by a back up and then a security guard. Absolutely no need for such an expensive security team. Signs of grandeur rather than necessity!

He can't leave his house without security. Despite credible death threats and being physically attacked on multiple occasions by morally fake, love-not-hate lefties he carries on. Already wealthy, famous and successful he could be enjoying his retirement now. The United States needed the most innocuous kind of cooperation from them. They denied the United States that cooperation.
The implied argument is that their obligations within our alliance depend on whether they like the guy we chose as our president. โSure, weโre alliesโฆif we approve of who you elected.โ
Nope.
We are not going to forget, and weโre not going to forgive. Iโm indifferent to their excuses or their rationalizations. The United States of America needed their help and not very much help. They turned us down. That changes everything. And they arenโt going to like how it changes everything.

To be honest, the biggest justification for funding NATO was always sentimental, with Europe being the cradle of Western civilization and the origin of many ancestors. But Europe has spent decades undermining that heritage, leaving only one tangible benefit, which is the use of military bases. One could debate whether that alone makes NATO worth the cost, but at least it was something real. But now theyโve taken that away as well, so there is absolutely no reason left to continue supporting NATO.
