Today in Denver, I hosted community leaders on the frontlines of environmental justice — leaders I’m working with to protect our environment from big oil, corporate polluters, and an administration that ignores science. Their stories drive my work in Congress to ensure the health and safety of Colorado families.

2/ I shared about the obstacles to public engagement, including the time I flew to Virginia in 2023 solely to make public comment, the value of the lived experience of residents impacted by pipelines, and the need to prioritize public health & safety for all pipelines.

Today AQCC approved new rules requiring operators to eliminate methane-emitting pneumatic devices at o&g sites across CO. Colorado has the opportunity to #CutMethane pollution ahead of @EPA's deadline, making the air safer for our children to breathe. As Laurie Anderson writes in @colo_politics, Colorado has already proven itself a leader on reducing methane emissions. It shouldn't stop now.

For years, Colorado has been a leader in reducing methane emissions and the harmful co-pollutants that are an inevitable part of oil and gas development, yet Colorado families continued to be adversely impacted because we lacked accurate emissions data.
