The 1News item that labelled Julian Batchelor a racist was clearly an example of biased reporting. The label “racist” is used this way to try and delegitimise opposition to cogovernance, but polls indicate a majority of Kiwis oppose it.

I wonder if you can wrap your head around this. Not overly confident but we can give it a go maybe. A lot of the liberal turning away from X - including by your own employer - occurred in the wake of it becoming a free-speech oriented platform.
Those institutions, including Stuff, preferred it as a platform that censored disfavoured views.
In that way, deliberate decisions by institutions to cease using X have become seen as an indication of disapproval for free speech and in favour of controlled speech.
The free speech union exists to promote free speech.
