Big news about the corruption of the Child Maintenance Service (CMS) in the UK. I will link the full story in the reply. “According to peer-reviewed data compiled by Brian Hudson, a businessman and campaigner for the rights of paying parents, figures on the mortality of paying parents from sources including the CMS itself, the DWP, and the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveal a concerning pattern among those in arrears with the CMS. The data, obtained via multiple Freedom of Information Requests (FOI), indicates that parents in arrears have a mortality rate a staggering 14.28 times higher than the national average, constituting a profoundly elevated risk of death among paying parents. This group constitutes a significant 65.1 percent of all deaths within this demographic, despite representing only 12.3 percent of the total population. An overwhelming 93.1 percent of deaths surpassing the national mortality rate (referred to as excess or unexplained deaths) among paying parents occurred in individuals who were in arrears in the month leading up to their passing. According to many paying parents who have spoken to The Epoch Times, this data trend may well illustrate the severe mental impact of CMS arrears collection.”

@DrGrumpy @Blueblur2023 People are not fit for purpose. Accountants that can't count, IT systems that send 7 different letters when 1 accurate letter will do. Caseworkers don't understand logic and managers who sit in a dark room all day and and pat themselves on the back for finding sun light

@Blueblur2023 Try using the CMS website! None of the letters sent to me are on there but I’ve kept the physical copies Also their complaint process is not fit for purpose! That’s another complaint they’re racking up!

@Ms_Goggins @MartinSLewis You can use the email of the Child Maintenance Department where you do not have to sit on the phone for hours and pass all the screening questions. The hours wasted that you can never get back and contacting in your time is definitely the preferred option.

@MartinSLewis Try ringing the Child Maintenance Service. Hours on hold, once you've even joined the queue after navigating the terrible screening questions, then when they close, they cut you off. Guaranteed to not be able to call after 5pm and have it answered in time before the 6pm cut off.

"We're taking a lot of calls right now, and the wait is much longer than usual, pls stay on the call right now..." BALDERDASH, BALONEY and other B words. I just (again) got this when calling a bank. It's not 'longer than usual', it is USUAL. Either hire more call operatives, or don't play the message. It's a lie and we all know it.
