Are cutouts and posters becoming a safety concern in Bengaluru? A possible tragedy was avoided after a 100-foot cutout of veteran actor late Vishnuvardhan, installed near Prasanna Theatre on Magadi Road, Bengaluru, collapsed shortly after a vehicle passed through the area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The incident has once again highlighted concerns over the safety of large temporary structures placed in public spaces. Whether related to actors, politicians, or other public figures, oversized cutouts and posters can become risky during strong winds, rain, or weak installation. There have been several cases in the past where such structures caused traffic disruption, property damage, injuries, and in some instances loss of life. Public celebrations and promotional displays are common, but safety measures must remain the top priority.Experts and citizens often stress the need for proper permissions, structural checks, and strict monitoring before erecting large displays in busy areas.
