My Dearest Followers: Sharing a personal story. One of my “friends” is getting married this summer. She asked me to be one of her bridesmaids with the condition that I “trim” my hair. Her hair is long, but mine is longer. This means cutting roughly 10-15 inches to shoulder length. That is her actual request. [I was a bit shocked. What? Is this maddening? Is this a normal request by brides? OMG! I was not made for this girlie, dolly up nonsense. Ask my belated Mom! What the hell does this have to do with Grant and the Union boys?!?! Nothing, of course!] She knows that I lost my long hair to cancer. All of it. I told her that I needed time to make a decision. Her argument was “hair grows back.” I told her that mine took several years to do so. After 2 months of indecision, earlier this morning, I declined. I thanked her. Because why not, I also send her this photo taken early today 👇👇, totally natural (wearing red lipstick, because why not) showing my wild hair (intentionally made it as wildest as possible, because why not). This is I, take it or leave it. I am also not attending the wedding. I will be an old, toothless, walking with a cane, arguing about Grant and the Union boys or hiking somewhere, with long gray wild hair.

@realcountry1953 Dude his funeral was wild. The Isaacs, Gaither Vocal Band, The Cathedrals sang…. George Richey spoke (among several others). Elvis’s piano player, Glen Hardin was there, along with Joe Guercio, his orchestra conductor, & Charlie Hodge (guitar/vocals). I’ll never forget it.

@realcountry1953 I sat on JD Sumner’s bus back in 97 and watched him suck on a cigarette in one hand, an oxygen mask in the other. My boss, Ed O’Neal (a great bass singer in his own right), claimed smoking put a “cut” on a bass singer’s voice that you couldn’t come by genetically.
