Me: Tax the rich Q: But what about all the waste, fraud and abuse? Me: investigate and prosecute waste, fraud and abuse AND tax the rich. Q: But the rich create jobs Me: Great. So they can enjoy the profits created from that labor AND pay taxes on that profit. Q: It will just make them leave America. Me: There is no tax haven in the world like the American tax haven. No they won’t. Q: Our national debt is because spending is out of control! Me: It is, but that is also something that rich people have trained you to say so that you’ll argue that they shouldn’t be taxed. Create Medicare for all ($600 billion in savings), cut the military budget in half ($500 billion). There’s a trillion right there. AND tax the rich. Q: …. Me: Exactly. Tax the rich.

Today, I'm introducing my wealth tax — and more than 50 members of Congress are joining me. It’s time for the government to start working for American families, not just the ultra-rich.

Flynn pled guilty to lying to the FBI. Twice. Now, Trump cronies at DOJ pay him $1.25 million of your taxpayer money to reward him for his corrupt loyalty. The federal government … as racketeering organization.
Zoe Tillman@ZoeTillman

LATEST: Ex-Trump adviser Michael Flynn will get $1.25 million in his settlement with DOJ, resolving claims stemming from his Mueller-era prosecution, per person familiar with the terms bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Donald Trump Jr. bought into a company. 3 months later, his dad's Pentagon handed them $620 million in taxpayer dollars. Democrats forced a vote to subpoena Don Jr. today to come clean about this shady deal. But Republicans blocked it and even shut down the hearing to protect him.

I showed a Trump post to my psychologist friend and asked her to do a proper profile. This was, in retrospect, like asking a vet to look at a particularly diseased badger. She put down her coffee, read it twice, and said: “Right. Where do you want me to start?” The all-caps, she explained, isn’t emphasis. It’s dysregulation. A regulated adult uses punctuation to signal importance. Trump uses volume, because volume is what worked in the room he grew up in. Fred Trump’s household rewarded dominance and punished weakness. Donald learned early that the loudest person wins. He never updated that software. He never updates anything. The man is essentially Windows Vista with a spray tan. “NATO HAS DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.” The word absolutely is doing a lot of work there. Psychologists call this black-and-white thinking, a cognitive pattern strongly associated with narcissistic personality structures. The world is either total loyalty or total betrayal. No middle ground. No nuance. No evidence of a functioning cerebral cortex. “MILITARILY DECIMATED.” She paused on this one. Self-glorification dressed as fact, she said. He has no military background, never served, and has a well-documented terror of illness and physical danger. Bone spurs, famously. Four of them. One per deferment. So he compensates verbally, hard and consistently, because words are his only battlefield and even there he fights like a man wearing oven mitts. “THE U.S.A. NEEDS NOTHING FROM NATO.” The people who most loudly declare their independence, she said, are almost always the most terrified of abandonment. Classic counterdependence. The kid who announces he doesn’t need friends. In the playground. Alone. Eating his lunch next to a bin. The threat with no content, “NEVER FORGET THIS VERY IMPORTANT POINT IN TIME,” she found genuinely fascinating. It has the grammatical structure of consequence without any actual consequence attached. It’s what you say when you want to punish someone but lack both the means and the attention span to follow through. And then the signature. His own name. On his own platform. As if the man might otherwise forget who he is halfway through a sentence, which, to be fair, seems increasingly plausible. She sat back and said: “This is a man who has been pretending to be formidable for so long he can no longer locate the frightened little boy underneath. But he’s still there. He’s always there. TACO is always there. Screaming in capital letters at people who stopped listening years ago.” I paid for the coffee. It was the least I could do. She’s going to need therapy after this. Trump had a hateful hypomanic episode last night continuing to this morning. He made venomous posts, declaring his defiance against anyone and everyone. His gut is a simmering stew of agitation, rage, and desperation. His malignant pathologies rule him, filling his disordered brain with paranoid fantasies of revenge alongside fantastical visions of inflicting destruction and in doing so, regaining his grandiosity. He hates having to pull back or pivot on anything. No deal with the Dems on TSA. No advice from allies, who betrayed him. More tariffs, SCOTUS be damned. No stupid questions from the press. No bad news from aides - this one is scariest - it means he starts off ignorant, gets more ignorant as each day progresses. He wonders how it is that he - the most powerful person in the world - still has to deal with so much disrespect. Does he have to teach EVERYONE a lesson? He is paranoid and seeking scapegoats. He is telling himself that polls must be fake, war reports are fake, everything that doesn't emanate from him is fake. This is the core narrative he wants to sell. It's also his only answer. HIS reality must rule. This will be his justification for escalating in Iran, AND his justification for using emergency powers to secure the midterms. Friends - none of us know how this plays out, because so far, the GOP is content to let the naked Emperor run loose. Know this: Neither you nor I can EVER feel the kind of confused desperation and rage Trump feels now. This is a man who knows he's in his final chapter. He's confounded that he, all that he is, all that he ever said he was, his lifetime of secrets and lies and false constructs - is vulnerable to exposure. He needs and wants his grandiosity. Everyone is dumb. Everyone is lying. Only he speaks truth. How can he possibly sleep? This is a malignant narcissist with extreme power, in decline, trapped. History tells us that this is the single most dangerous thing, possible.

Elizabeth Warren is introducing a wealth tax. The bill would impose an annual 2% tax on the net worth of households over $50 million, with billionaires paying 3%. And, to deter the ultra-rich from leaving the country to avoid the tax, the bill would also levy a 40% "exit tax" on anyone worth more than $50 million who renounces their U.S. citizenship.

Trump: "It was brought to my attention today that we’re the only country that does mail-in voting. Mail-in voting means mail-in cheating. I call it mail-in cheating."
Headquarters@HQNewsNow

Florida election records show Donald, Melania, and Barron Trump all voted by mail in the Florida HD-87 special election. This is despite the fact that Trump calls voting by mail "cheating" and is trying to significantly restrict voting by mail in his SAVE America Act.

This should scare the hell out of everyone. The midterms are coming. Stop the bickering, stop the infighting, head down, eyes on the prize. If we f**k this up, we lose everything we’ve worked the last decade for. If we lose the midterms, we lose the country, perhaps forever.

🚨 Melania Trump this morning: Proposes an AI system—“Plato”—as a replacement for teachers. “Literature, art, science, mathematics, history… the entire corpus of knowledge… at home.” Replace teachers? With a machine? AI over teachers. That’s the idea. Instead of calling for better pay for our nation's educators/heroes. Sad day!
