🚨NEW: Adam Carolla explains why he likes TRUMP🚨 "I like that he's a commercial builder — and he's ALWAYS in a hurry. He's like, 'Let's go. Let's do this.'" "It's a sort of reason why I like @elonmusk. I like those guys who go, 'Why not? We'll just do it!'" @DailyCaller

The American creative class (that hates American cultural and makes everything ugly) should be forcibly resettled in Gary, Indiana and we should temporarily put the Japanese in charge of aesthetics and cultural programming until things are back under control.

I’ve abandoned my wife and child - not because I’m a deadbeat, but because I want what’s best for our son My genes work best without parenting. It’s how I was raised, and all my ancestors before me We thrive on neglect My son will do great things one day

the podcaster wants to be a comedian, the comedians want to be musicians and athletes, and those guys wanna be entrepreneurs, and the entrepreneurs wanna be public intellectuals, and the public intellectuals wanna be heads of state, and the heads of state want to be podcasters
Ben Sixsmith@BDSixsmith

No, Joe Rogan is. Rogan is a tragic figure because he's the world most talented podcaster and the world's least talented comedian yet it's the latter that he cares about most. x.com/i/status/20369…

@Lorlordylor @StatisticUrban Indeed. If I were looking for the most glamorous apartment in NYC in which to throw a cocktail party, I wouldn't care about Central Park views since my friends mostly drink at night. I'd want to be about 700' high across from the mighty spire/dome of the Chrysler Building.

Years ago, pre-Covid, I was at the Equinox in Westwood, sitting in the steam room reading the New York Times as they used to give it out in the morning, and some guy started doing yoga in the middle of the steam room. I looked at him like WTF and I guess he took that as an invitation. Next thing I knew his hand was on my junk. It took me a second to realize what was happening. I look at the paper and see both of my hands and it registers. That is not my hand. That is this guy‘s hand. I freaked the fuck out, literally started screaming, and he ran away. I sat and sulked for a minute then went out looking for him, and he was nowhere to be found.

Women have this very successful tactic where they all unionize online and say things like "it's soo hot when men... do the laundry. it makes me so wet when guys... don't get mad when i text my ex" Men all copied it with the olympics girl. "It's sooo hot how she's not a bitch"

🚨 As a rule, with very very few exceptions, the podcast industry is an enterprise of nitwits finding perceived faults, real or imagined, quixotic but without purpose or nobility and lacking an achievable goal. Podcasts are cheap programming, requires minimal study or preparation in advance by the host. There is no scarcity of available guests who’s performative role is to assume the guise as a specialist on a subject - but their lazily retrieved information is just scattered trivia and listicles, because that’s all their attention span can process. Oftentimes the podcast will have two or three points of views, which is merely competing one-man shows. I think it was from the book “plastic words” by Uwe Pörksen that I learned of the technique, most egregious in the podcast industry: quoting from the book - There is a market demand for “experts” who can fool the public into believing that they have great knowledge. The ones who do this best are those who have fooled themselves. They are instruments of manipulation, blueprinting a new reality, tools for the laboratory of the real. MISmatched expert: Presented as a credible authority. they rely on a deception of mismatching credentials, whereas they have no relevant peer-reviewed academic papers, on the precise subject at hand. NONexpert: Derives authority from the language of a nonpartisan scientific specialist, thereby gaining distance from the layperson and through this distance wins adherents and persuasive effectiveness. Example a venture capitalist speaking convincingly of infectiology The tricks of their trade The opacity of specialized vocabularies. This strengthens their position and divides the world into experts with something to say and others who may hardly speak. None of what I’ve said should suggest that all podcast are like this, so I reiterate and emphasize my first point - that what I’ve said is the rule and there are many executions that should be sought out. @podcastnotes has admirably fulfilled on this demand. Ive enjoyed many podcasts because it feels like there is a collaboration between the guest and the host to explore a subject with an intellectual inquisitiveness that can only be possessed by a host who precisely curates their guests and together they have a knowledge that they want memorialized. One example of this is @jposhaughnessy and his @InfiniteL88ps podcast And so on and so on
