BREAKING: New group text message revealed from Matt McCabe to Jen McCabe, Brian Albert and Nicole Albert, that was sent after Officer John O’Keefe was found murdered at 34 Fairview:
“Yep, if she pleads out, it will end. If she fights it, it will be an episode.”
The “she” is referring to Karen Read.
That’s all these people wanted when they decided to frame Karen Read.
They just wanted her to take it. Take the fall. Plead out and spare them from accountability.

A professional with a #disability has two jobs: The one we get hired and paid for. The other is educating their organization the best way to accommodate, grow, and enable a professional with a disability. The second one we don’t get paid for, it is the tax we pay to do the first.

@LenNorthfield Yes! I talk about this at length as well. SO important especially for things like informed consent, instructions, and making sure tasks are completely accessible for participants who struggle with written language.
English

@BP_Bryony Right- this is so important and I am going to make a larger emphasis on protecting anonymity and shining a light on “small world syndrome”.. important for research into topics that are more sensitive. Thank you so much for your insight!
English

@ScienceBeth I'm in the UK but had to consider that the Deaf Community is small - small world syndrom. My biggest challenge - lack of anonymity when responding in BSL. Also finding funding to translate BSL answers.
English

@jesskorte Wow, I never thought about this before! I can see how giving participants a role in how they are identified can make them feel more comfortable/gives them more ownership over their data they provide
English

@KatBrockway @missundaaztood Would LOVE that! Thank you so much!
English

@ScienceBeth @missundaaztood I have published my thesis on ethical considerations and methodology for documenting deaf cultural data recently at Goucher College. If you want the link, let me know.
English

@heatherisuppose Ooooh, I will look into this and see how i can incorporate that. Thank you so much!
English

@MrAriyeh Yes! This is so important. I have big emphasis on establishing foundational assumptions, recognizing bias and monitoring how that colors the research process. As well as dissemination plans & specific outlines of how this benefits DHH community & how to get that info to them

"As we support the whole child, we must support the whole educator." Thank you, @SecCardona, for this vision for a stronger, more supported teaching workforce.
English

I have a few papers & threads (especially from @jahochcam), but I'm still trying to find more examples of considerations made when designing a research study on deaf populations (foundational qqs, study design, equitable materials, etc) Anyone want to share their experiences?
