One of those who knew of Smyth’s crimes and did nothing was the former head chaplain at Winchester where most of the victims came from. David Connor became Queen’s Chaplain and Dean of Windsor. He should resign PTO or have it removed.

Raising tuition fees by a fractional amount is the worst of all worlds. It will heap more pressure on students whilst also doing nothing to address the financial crisis in universities.

This is a real problem in Durham and elsewhere. Building enough student accommodation with fixed rents would be an easy way to free up huge amounts of housing stock in city centres, as well as supporting local shops, which lose most customers each summer.
