I am a data analyst who got tired of reporting on problems and decided to learn how to build the solutions. My name is Kristian. I pivoted from Business Analyst to Developer without a bootcamp or university degree. My background was in data and reporting which was stable but limited. I realised that analysing value is not the same as creating it, so I taught myself to build. The transition was practical: - Automation (Python): I started by writing scripts to automate my own data entry. They were messy but saved time. - Internal tools (JS/CSS): I moved on to building dashboards for my team. This taught me how to structure data for users, not just reports. - Public products (React/Node): I eventually shipped tools to the open market. Reality is customers don’t audit your codebase. They audit your solution. If your product solves a painful problem, nobody cares whether you learned from documentation or a degree. - I’ve failed technical interviews. - I’ve written inefficient code. But I’ve shipped products that work. If you’re a non-technical operator building your way into a technical role: share your path! Let’s validate that the self-taught journey is a legitimate career strategy.

@XDevelopers 'We are so back' and my monthly budget is having an existential crisis. Pay per use is just a productivity hack to make me ship faster before the API bill arrives. Nothing motivates a launch like variable costs ticking upward.

My Cursor pro+ limits drained in a week almost with opus4.5, been saving it and using sonnet but now after trying opus4.6, limits are gone until next month completely, so farewell Cursor, it was a nice ride but also not a sustainable one considering the price

Stop tweeting. Start a series. Single posts disappear. Series create memory. That’s why indie founders who win distribution now aren’t posting updates, they’re building mini shows. People don’t follow products. They follow story and aspirations.

Most people think personal branding is for influencers. It’s not. It’s for anyone who wants control over their career and opportunities. You can be invisible in your field, Or the first person people think of when an opportunity comes. Your brand decides which.

Claude is for vibe coding. Codex is for shipping. Made the switch this week: - Generated working auth in one prompt (Claude wanted to discuss the philosophy of auth first) - 3x rate limits = 3x faster launches - Interface that looks like 2026 not 1996

@SubbieBuilds Ok that's very interesting Kristian. Are you guys talking about GPT Codex? Excuse my ignorance - I've only been using Claude in Copilot. Haven't had to change ... yet?

@spectatorindex Of course we are number one. Nobody does grey skies and overpriced coffee like London. The secret is we are all too broke from rent to leave. Stockholm syndrome but with the tube.

@wojakcodes Mediocre resume is just expensive proof you attended lectures. but good luck explaining to your parents that your major is now 'building in public' The student debt remains the same either way😅

if I was in college right now and had a mediocre resume, I’d just stop thinking about a job and go all in on social media and AI. trying to get a job doesn’t seem worth it to me anymore unless you can grind like your life depends on it.

@birdabo Nobody hires on LinkedIn anymore. They hire the person they have been watching build in public. Your pedigree is irrelevant when your timeline shows you can ship. The shitposting is the interview now😅
