Since it no one seems to know what hash and rice is today letโs open up a dialogue and educate the rest of bbq nation about our bbq stew gravy served over rice. Hash and rice is a stewed meat usually smoked partially before being added to a pot with potatoโs, onions with traditional bbq spices and sometimes bbq sauce that is cooked way down and reduced to the point of a gravy. Lots of extra animal fat is usually added to make it extra silky and voluptuously and then served over white rice with a pat of butter. It is bbq comfort food pushed to ๐ฏ. In some circles it is more prized than the bbq itself because it is that good.
