Unironically more accurate to the original than the “remake”—

@desgamesyt impressive! do you know of many other modern PC physical releases that have DRM free copy on disc that doesn't require internet?

Picked up this PC physical copy of CrossCode recently, and not only does the disc have a DRM-Free build of the game on the disc, it’s also one of the only physical games I’ve seen that includes an optional GOG code as well 👍

Back to where it all began. In 1991, Sonic the Hedgehog joined the scene and changed the history of gaming forever. Take one final step back with us as we rewind the clock back to the 1990s. 🎨: Naoto Ohshima

@succeroni11 it's not just that, no one look works for the art style of every SNES game, what works for games with pre-rendered art doesn't work for pixel art, etc.

honestly i feel like the need to play SNES games at a higher fidelity has at least some potential to it IF IT WAS DONE CORRECTLY however our only exposure to this technology are emulator filters that make the game look like cream cheese

I've seen a lot of negative responses to this but to me its a game changer with a weak first impression Higher res sprites on SNES games has huge potential, like imagine a native Mario World texture pack that looks like the 2D art or a Render96 style DKC pack. This is incredible

Me with controllers and also a question for those that see this: do you include handheld consoles when discussing and considering controllers?

fix it a bit, arcade turtles and arcade sailor moon. arcade sailor moon is pretty annoying with the timer, its easy to fuck up. arcade tmnt rank goes crazy, some people thought no-miss was impossible for a very long time as well

@DaSonixFan97 yeah I would have bought the HD edition had it used the Saturn version of the game, huge mistake.

This shit right here is pure aids to me. The top one is the OG Sega Saturn version of Grandia 1 while the bottom one is the “HD” Remaster. Except it looks like someone smeared vasoline over someone’s asshole.

The PlayStation DRM situation really gives hope. More and more seem to realize that the grass on the all-digital side isn't as green as they thought. Regardless of the actual issue, people realized what it feels to be at the mercy of someone who only sees you as a wallet to drain

PlayStation support has confirmed that a new digital rights management policy for the console is intentional, not a glitch. Starting with any digital games purchased after the March 2026 system update, your PS5 will require an internet connection at least once every 30 days to validate the license. If the console stays offline longer than that, the games simply will not launch until you reconnect. This change does not affect any titles already in your library. Setting a console as your primary system also will not bypass the monthly check-in.

I’ve tried arcade sticks a couple times now and I just can’t, I simply don’t like them. Really unfortunate that PlayStation doesn’t support keyboard input, for all the M2 Shottriggers releases and stuff I wonder if people use keyboards for fighting games too
