The governance of Australia needs to change. The three year cycle in the lower house is too short. Governments get basically one year to do something then it is straight onto the next election. Ideally the length of term needs to be at least four years. The senate elections would also need to change. We also need to fix the way people's votes are used. If we want to remain in a Westminster system then we need to go to a First Past the Post System. The currently voting takes way too long to get official results and gives strange results relative to the votes cast. If we want proportional voting as the current system tries and fails to do, then we need to go fully proportional but lose the constituency model we currently have.

@SirJBritain There is a price to be paid for tolerating all this in the first place and that is going to be it. The people are not completely blameless in this mess. All for deporting migrants but not punishing people for being born in a particular situation which is what that would be.

I want to share an uncomfortable truth with you lovely folks. Deporting all the illegals, the foreign criminals & all foreign nationals that have arrived in (let’s say) the last 5-10 years will NOT be enough. Sure, it will give us some respite & make our communities look more like home again but… All we are doing is kicking the can down the road. Given the differences in the fertility & birth rates between native Brits & foreigners born in the UK it would only be a matter of time until we became a minority in our own homeland. If you truly want to resolve the issue forever, you would ALSO need to deport all those non natives/foreigners that were born here as well.

Therefore, we must restore the military draft for our Nation’s young people. Each and every American, at eighteen years of age, must serve two years of military service. They could also choose to serve part of that time overseas or in country in a volunteer capacity. Being a citizen of the United States gives us unparalleled Freedoms and opportunities that are the envy of the world. However, these Freedoms that we cherish do not come without a cost. By protecting and preserving these Freedoms, young people, regardless of race, creed or religion will be united in service to their country and just as importantly, to each other. Many Nations around the world require their young citizens to serve their country. Until recently, our Nation did as well. This would serve many purposes in our society; We would have all of our young men and women put into a rigorous physical training course that they could use for the rest of their lives, we would always have a standing army ready at all times including for domestic problems like natural disasters. Unlike in today’s Universities, our young people will learn how truly great their country is and how unique and incredible are the Freedoms that this Nation bestows upon them. Service is a solemn reminder of the men and women before them who “paid the last full measure of devotion” so that we may enjoy these Freedoms. Also, very importantly, we would have in service every segment of our society represented so that our elected officials would be more hesitant and not cavalier about sending their own sons and daughters off to a faraway war unless it was truly in our Nation’s interests. This discussion and implementation must begin. To the young people of America, this is your country and your future.
