@Wes_Macc@NoodleHairCR7 Has to be decided one way 🤷🏻♂️ (I'd have preferred corners, but these, in therory could also be a tie... better than the old way however, when it was a coin toss)
Nothing makes me more patriotic than football, but some on my England tweets don’t seem to like it.
Call us colonisers like it’s some sort of win? Don’t care, the only thing anyone alive today has colonised is a vegetable patch, but it’s history we don’t deny.. unlike some.
My pride comes from the resilience and ‘stiff upper lip’ attitude that came with the World Wars and was passed down through generations. It comes from the diversity flag bastardisers try and tell us we should be ashamed of because it’s all bad. It comes from watching Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice etc play for the badge and watching Ollie Watkins score that semi-final goal, the pints unnecessarily thrown in the air when someone scores, and from the sarcasm and wit the rest of the world struggles to understand.. I could go on, but most importantly it comes from thickly cut pub cheese and onion cobs (it’s a cob).
Apparently everyone but us can be proud of who they are, but you can fuck right off if you think I’m going to be guilt tripped into being anything but proud to be English x
@cuda37@NoodleHairCR7 Leaving a tiebreaker to the refs who can arbitrarily decide what is a yellow card is not great. I hate it when they start handing out yellows toward the end of the game when a regular foul can be called. How about cornerkicks?
@DaveTambi@NoodleHairCR7 It comes into play if 3+ teams are tied… FIFA creates a “mini-table’ using only the matches between these teams, so H2H GD could separate them
@NoodleHairCR7 Since we're digging deep... changes to this world cup from previous...
H2H now comes before GD, and if all square, it's based on World Ranking rather than a coin toss (a rare occurance that has only happened twice but this was before the fair play score was a thing)
Portugal had more yellow cards. Group ranking criteria as follows...
1) Points
2) Head-to-head points between tied teams
3) Head-to-head goal difference
4) Head-to-head goals scored
5) Overall goal difference
6) Overall goals scored
7) Fair-play score*
8) FIFA World Ranking
* Fair-play point system:
Yellow card: -1
Red Card (2nd yellow): -3
Straight Red: -4
Yellow followed by a straight red: -5
England aren’t very good. But Croatia are soooo bad
The more teams I watch, the more I think USA will go deep. Fast. Energetic. Fit. Can play. Passion.
Somehow this is Englands worst squads since 2016
🏴 This flag belongs to every English man, woman & child.
I’m sick of it being hijacked by the far right.
I’m proud of being English - so let’s take back control of our flag and cheer on our national team this evening!

Someone give me a honest answer to why Americans are so friendly
Everyone holds open the door for you, stops for you and traffic, asks about your day and makes jokes with you. The rest of the world calls you rude though, why?
They go into a lower league - typically the bottom three in a league go down one with the top three in that league going up
To give you a fix, in England we have around 20 leagues, so in theory - a tiny village amateur team could work their way all the way up to winning the Champions League
Mauricio Pochettino said that ‘American sports reward losers’ when asked about the style of play in top European nations vs. in the U.S. 😯🇺🇸
QUESTION: “We know how England, France, Spain play… Players from countries with a strong tradition have a recognizable style. What is the style of the US team? What kind of football do the Americans want to play?”
ANSWER: “Their culture is playful. They want to play. We told them, “Guys, playing soccer is one thing, competing is another.” They’re two completely different sports. They grow up in a culture of playing. Why? If you start in MLS and you haven’t won a game in three months and you’re at the bottom, what’s the consequence if there’s no promotion or relegation, no international competition? American sports reward losers! But soccer is different: if you reward those who don’t win… If you don’t have goals, you don’t fight. If I lose, what happens? Nothing. They just fire the coach. Also, the American player is disciplined. But with a sense of complacency that isn’t good in soccer. It took us a year and a half to change that mentality.”

I love referees that have a pair of bollocks and make the correct decision.
We need more of that in the PL.
Don’t bow down to the big names. Don’t fall for the games they try playing.
Great shout.
