@danielxran hi Daniel — I'm curious if you still have your old blog posts about Skyrim and Elder Scrolls music somewhere? can't find them anymore I remember some good harmony analysis and insight into some of the music from Heberling's Elder Scrolls OSTs
@danielxran a tad late to this but I streamed your music an obscene amount this year 😭 I loop it while I write, and I drafted my first novel this year with your help. I can’t thank you enough for your work and how it’s inspired me. Heartland and Black Marsh are absolute gems 💎
@HermesRJ_ It's been a bad year for me but I've got some new releases planned for 2024. Hope to see you then, and I'm so glad to have made such an impact on your life❤️🩹
@11Spotted Bethesda would never risk TES6 on an unknown like me. Besides, Zur has some great scores to his name. His style is different but I wouldn't worry too much.
@mrissi_neko@BeyondSkyrim Hmm, maybe Walls Divide Us or Alleyway Pavane from The Heartland or Filthwit from the Black Marsh OST. I might also have some unreleased/unused stuff from back then that's very similar. It's quite typical of what I was writing at the time.
@danielxran@BeyondSkyrim My absolutely favourite soundtrack is Diaspora Nenalata. It’s an absolute masterpiece and it gives Ayleid Ruins the melancholic and eerie vibe.
@danielxran Hi! I have a question about your YouTube channel. Can you do the «Official Artist Channel» verification? This Google page will help – support.google.com/youtube/answer…. Because it's VERY hard to find your channel due the YouTube algorithm, and thank you so much for your magnificent works!
@Viperspider1@ElderScrolls Thank you! The Heartland isn't the official soundtrack of any mod, but the licence permits anyone to use it. Always happy to hear my music being used for tabletop games, too!
@danielxran@ElderScrolls Cheers Daniel, really enjoying these tracks. They will make a great addition to my weekly DnD game which is set in Cyrodiil's playlist (Your beyond Skyrim tracks already make up most of it!). Will these be featured in any mods?
Tough lecture tomorrow. I teach the music of the Elder Scrolls games -- a student favorite -- but I am substituting the actual soundtrack for the Beyond Skyrim: Bruma soundtrack, which does many of the same things but isn't scored by a credibly accused abuser.
@dedreb I'm afraid not, sorry. Closest I can think of is Barber's Adagio. As far as I know, that ambient style is largely a digital creation. Haven't come across it in the classical period.
@danielxran do you know of any classical pieces that are similar to the dense string and/or choral writing from Skyrim (for studying)? Like Journey's End, Sky Above or Draumr from the Northerner
@tittyleds I'm happy that my music means so much to you. I don't know about working for Bethesda, but, with a little luck, I'll be able to compose for other interesting video games in the future.
@danielxran I don't think you'll ever understand how these tracks make me feel.. Really catches the essence of what elderscrolls is to me. Honestly you sir should create music for every elderscrolls game not just mods!
